Abstract

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels. This study aims to determine the effect of walking activities on reducing blood sugar levels in patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus in Bangilan District, Tuban Regency. This study uses an experimental research design with a quantitative descriptive approach, specifically using a one-group pre-post test with a sample of 15 people with Type II DM with a vulnerable age of 40 - 62 years old who are male and female using purposive sampling technique which is then given walking treatment in 3 meetings for a week with a duration of 60 minutes. Data collection using random sugar levels at the fingertips. Data analysis techniques with descriptive tests, normality tests, and paired T tests using the SPSS version 26 application. The results showed that the Sig 2 Tailed value at pre-test and post-test was 0.000 <0.05 with a delta decrease in sugar levels of 50.6 mg/dL (24%). It can be concluded that there is a decrease in blood sugar levels in patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus in Bangilan District, Tuban Regency.
