Latar belakang penelitian adalah proses pembelajaran yang diterapkan di SMK Taruna Jaya Prawira Tuban menerapkan sistem blok pada mata pelajaran Instalasi Penerangan Listrik. Sistem blok ini berlangsung selama 8 jam di ruang praktik akibatnya ketuntasan belajar siswa kurang dari kriteria ketuntasan minimal yang telah ditentukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI TIPTL SMK Taruna Jaya Prawira Tuban, untuk mengetahui hasil belajar kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen apakah dapat mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum (KKM) serta membandingkan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung (MPL) dan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (MPBP). Hasil penelitian menunjukan hasil belajar kelas kontrol yang dibelajarkan menggunakan MPL nilai ranah pengetahuan rata-rata 78,68, nilai ranah sikap sosial rata-rata 72,44 dan nilai ranah   keterampilan rata-rata 74,22, sehingga nilai rata-rata total mencapai 75,11 dengan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar 51,52%. Sedangkan untuk kelas eksperimen yang dibelajarkan menggunakan MPBP nilai ranah pengetahuan rata-rata 84,09, nilai ranah sikap sosial rata-rata 79,13 dan nilai ranah keterampilan rata-rata 78,63, sehingga nilai rata-rata total 80,62 dengan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar 87,10%. Hasil uji perbedaan hasil belajar menunjukan nilai Thitung ranah pengetahuan -3,09 dan Ttabel -1,99, nilai Thitung ranah sikap sosial -3,66 dan Ttabel -1,99, nilai Thitung ranah  keterampilan   -3,66 dan Ttabel -1,99, dengan demikian  -Thitung < -Ttabel. Hasil analisis Sig.(2-tailed) didapatkan nilai Sig.(2-tailed) ranah pengetahuan 0,00, nilai Sig.(2-tailed) ranah sikap  sosial  0,00, nilai Sig.(2-tailed)  ranah keterampilan  0,00, dengan demikian  Sig.(2-tailed)  <  0,05. Disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek lebih baik dibanding hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung.

Abstract

Background of its observation is learning process which is implemented in SMK Taruna Jaya Prawira Tuban implement block system on productive lesson. Block system is held for 8 hours in laboratory, so student mastery learning is less than decided minimum mastery learning. The purpose of observation are to develop student learning outcome in grade XI TIPTL SMK Taruna Jaya Prawira Tuban, to know student learning outcome of control and independent group can reach minimum standard mastery learning or not, and to compare student learning outcome which is using direct instruction and project based learning. Student learning outcome which is observed are knowledge, social attitude, and skills. This observation is held in three steps, or first step are preparing and planning, second step is observation, third step is presentation of observation result. This observation which is held in grade XI  TIPTL SMK Taruna Jaya Prawira Tuban uses nonequivalent control group design. The result shows that student learning outcome which is studied by using direct instruction has average learning outcome in control group is 78,687 for knowledge; 72,44 for social attitude, and 74,22 for skills so the total average is 75,11 with class mastery percentage is 51,515%. Whereas, the average learning outcome in independent group which is studied by using project based learning is 84,09 for knowledge; 79,13 for social attitude, and 78,63 for skills, so the total average is 80,62 with class mastery percentage is 87,10%. Result of difference test of student learning outcome shows that Tcountof  knowledge  is   -3,09   and   Ttableis  -1,99, Tcount of social attitude is -3,66 and Ttableis -1,99,   Tcount of  skill    is  -3,66 and Ttableis -1,99, so -Tcount < -Ttable. The value of analytic Sig.(2-tailed) is got value of Sig.(2-tailed) of knowledge is 0,00,   value   of  Sig.(2-tailed) of social is 0,00, value of Sig.(2-tailed) of social is 0,00, so Sig.(2-tailed) <0,05. It can be concluded that student learning outcome which is studied by project based learning is better than student learning outcome which is studied by direct instruction.
