Pemahaman adalah suatu proses, cara memahami dan mempelajari dengan baik, menangkap makna dan arti supaya paham untuk menambah pengetahuan. Dalam rangka meningatkan prestasi Atlet selain program latihan yang efektif seorang Atlet haruslah memahami peraturan pertandingan agar Atlet dapat mencapai prestasi terbaik.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan pemahaman peraturan pertandingan pencak silat kategori tanding. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah Atlet unit kegiatan mahasiswa pencak silat Universitas Negeri Surabaya yang berjumlah 28 Atlet. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pemahaman seluruh Atlet Universitas Negeri Surabaya terhadap peraturan pertandingan pencak silat kategori tanding sebesar 57,28%. Hasil persentase seluruh atlet sebesar 57,28% termasuk dalam kriteria cukup.

Understanding is a process, a way of understanding and studying well, capturing meaning and meaning to understand to increase knowledge. In order to remind Athlete achievements other than an effective training program an Athlete must understand the rules of the game for Athletes to achieve the best performance.This study aims to know and describe the understanding of the match martial arts match category. The target of this research is the athletes of student activity unit of Pencak Silat University of Surabaya, which amounts to 28 Athletes. Methods of data collection in this study using questionnaires.Based on the results of research, all athletes at the State University of Surabaya to the martial arts competition match category of 57.28%. The percentage of all athletes of 57.28% is included in sufficient criteria.
