Abstract

This study aims to compare the level of effectiveness between young coconut water and isotonic water in reducing lactic acid levels. This research was conducted using quantitative methods and presented descriptively using a crossover research design. The subjects of this study were seven male students who did sports activities using the HIIT method and then were given an intervention in the form of young coconut water and isotonic water. The results of blood tests taken before and after the intervention will show data on lactic acid levels and then compared. The analysis technique used is the mean, standard deviation, percentage, normality test, and independent sample t-test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the lactic acid levels of the group given the intervention of young coconut water and the group given the isotonic water intervention with a sig 2-tailed value of 0.000 (P<0.05). Young coconut water is more effective in neutralizing lactic acid levels in the blood after high-intensity activities. Keywords: Lactic acid, Young coconut water, Isotonic water, HIIT, Recovery
