MOTIVASI BERLATIH ATLET RUGBY 7s DALAM MASA PANDEMI COVID- 19

Motivasi berlatih pada rugby 7s berperan sangat signifikan terhadap performa atlet. Pemahaman terkait manfaat efek latihan sangat diperlukan bagi para atlet agar dalam kondisi dan situasi apapun atlet tetap melakukan latihan. Pandemi covid- 19 mengakibatkan rendahnya motivasi atlet untuk berlatih selain itu juga mengakibatkan turunnya kesehatan mental. Oleh karena itu tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk melihat motivasi atlet rugby 7s  saat pandemi covid-19. Jenis penelitian ini termasuk kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survey. Subjek penelitian ini adalah atlet rugby 7s kota Surabaya sebanyak 30 atlet rugby 7s dengan ( rata-rata umur = 21,56 ± 1,25, min = 19 tahun, maks = 23 tahun, tinggi badan = 167,8 ± 8,9 cm, berat badan = 67,5 ± 14,4 kg, pengalaman berlatih = 2,1 ± 1,57 tahun). Semua atlet merupakan mahasiswa yang  masih aktif dan tergabung pada rugby 7s di Surabaya. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri atas  20 atlet laki-laki dan 10 atlet perempuan. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan angket motivasi latihan. Data diambil menggunakan google form. Hasil dari penelitian  ini menunjukan bahwa motivasi berlatih atlet dari 30 atlet rugby 7s kota Surabaya 16,7% kategori atlet dalam motivasi berlatih sangat tinggi, 30% di kategori tinggi, 23% di kategori sedang, 20% di kategori rendah, dan 10% di kategori sangat rendah. Terdapat penurunan intensitas latihan sebesar 63,3%, penurunan pada frekuensi latihan sebesar 56,7%, dan penurunan pada durasi latihan sebesar 53,3%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu motivasi berlatih atlet rugby 7s sebagian besar pada kategori tinggi sampai sedang, hal ini menunjukan bahwa motivasi atlet rugby cukup baik, namun terjadi penurunan pada  intensitas, frekuensi dan durasi latihan.

Abstract

Training motivation in rugby 7s plays a very significant role in the athlete's performance. An understanding of the benefits from the effects of exercise is very necessary for athletes so that under any conditions and situations athletes continue to exercise. Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in the low motivation of athletes to train while also causing a decline in mental health. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to look at the motivation of 7s rugby athletes during the covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is quantitative with a survey approach. The subjects of this study were 30 rugby 7s athletes in Surabaya with (mean age = 21.56 ± 1.25, min = 19 years, max = 23 years, height = 167.8 ± 8.9 cm , body weight = 67.5 ± 14.4 kg, training experience = 2.1 ± 1.57 years). All athletes are students who are still active and joined in rugby 7s in Surabaya. The subjects of this study consisted of 20 male athletes and 10 female athletes. The instrument of this study used a questionnaire on exercise motivation. Data is taken using google form. The results of this study indicate that the motivation to train athletes from 30 rugby 7s athletes in the city of Surabaya is 16.7% in the category of athletes in the very high training motivation, 30% in the high category, 23% in the medium category, 20% in the low category, and 10% in the low category. very low category. There is a decrease in exercise intensity by 63.3%, a decrease in exercise frequency by 56.7%, and a decrease in exercise duration by 53.3%. The conclusion of this study is that the motivation to practice rugby 7s athletes is mostly in the high to moderate category, this shows that the motivation of rugby athletes is quite good, but there is a decrease in the intensity, frequency and duration of exercise.
