Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the fartlek training method in improving the aerobic endurance of SSB Tunas Muda Persepa Pandanagung KU 15 players. The method used is an experimental design with a pretest- posttest control group. Data were collected through the Multi-Stage Fitness Test (MFT) conducted before and after the fartlek training program. Data analysis was performed using a paired t-test with the help of SPSS software. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the aerobic endurance of the players after participating in the fartlek training program. The average VO2Max value of the players increased from 46.313 in the pretest to 49.781 in the posttest. The t-test produced a t value of -8.009 with a p-value < 0.05, indicating that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the fartlek training method is effective in improving the aerobic endurance of SSB Tunas Muda Persepa Pandanagung KU 15 players. The implications of this study suggest that the fartlek training method can be used as an effective strategy in the physical development programs of soccer athletes.
