Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of a combination of speed endurance training and small sided games on the anaerobic ability of GRESTARA FC soccer players aged 16-18 years. This research used an experimental design with 15 samples of players who were given treatment 12 times with a training frequency of 3 times for 4 weeks. Measurements were carried out using the Running-based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST) at pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and paired t-test hypothesis testing. The research results showed a significant increase in the players' anaerobic abilities after following the SET and SSG combination training program. The average RAST time at posttest showed a significant decrease compared to pretest, indicating an increase in anaerobic endurance. The normality test shows that the data is normally distributed, and the paired t-test shows a significance value of 0.010, which is smaller than 0.05, indicating that this combination exercise is effective. The conclusion of this research is that the combination of speed endurance training and small sided games significantly increases the anaerobic ability of soccer players. These findings are consistent with previous research that also shows the effectiveness of high-intensity training in improving players' anaerobic performance and fitness. It is recommended to integrate these combination exercises in a routine exercise program and carry out regular evaluations to optimize training results.
