Abstract

Sprint running is one of the events in track and field that requires power for running speed. In sprint running, to increase speed power, students can perform plyometric exercises such as speed bound and hopping to achieve optimal development in speed power. To assess the development of speed power, students undergo a 30-meter sprint test to analyze the results of the treatment. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of plyometric speed bound and hopping training on the running speed of students at MI Muhammadiyah 28 Surabaya. This study uses a two-group pretest-posttest design method.

 

The results of data analysis conducted on the pretest and posttest data using a paired sample t-test on the sprint test showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.40 > 0.05, indicating that there was no significant effect on the improvement of running speed from the plyometric training.
