Abstrak
Novel Ugly karya Constance Briscoe adalah bentuk eksistensi perempuan yang ingin memperjuangkan hak-hak
perempuan  yang   telah direnggut   kaum  laki-laki.   Tokoh Clear   adalah  sosok  perempuan  yang  mandiri   yang
mampu   memenuhi   kebutuhan   hidupnya   sendiri.   Perjuangan   yang   dilakukan   oleh   tokoh   Clear   adalah
perjuangannya dalam mempertahankan hak-hak dan martabat perempuan, serta melawan ketidak adilan yang
terjadi di dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah mengenai  1. Bagaimana
bentuk perjuangan kehidupan sosial   tokoh utama dalam novel  Ugly  karya Constance Briscoe,  2.  Bagaimana
bentuk perjuangan kebutuhan ekonomi kehidupan tokoh utama dalam novel  Ugly karya Constance Briscoe, 3.
Bagaimana   bentuk perjuangan hukum tokoh utama dalam novel  Ugly karya Constance Briscoe, 4. Bagaiman
bentuk perjuangan pendidikan tokoh utama dalam novel Ugly karya Constance Briscoe. Tujuan dalam penelitian
ini   adalah   1.  Mendeskripsikan   bentuk   perjuangan   kehidupan   sosial   tokoh   utama   dalam  novel  Ugly  karya
Constance Briscoe, 2. Mendeskripsikan bentuk perjuangan kebutuhan ekonomi kehidupan tokoh utama dalam
novel  Ugly karya Constance Briscoe, 3. Mendeskripsikan bentuk perjuangan hukum tokoh utama dalam novel  
Ugly  karya Constance Briscoe,  4.  Mendeskripsikan bentuk perjuangan pendidikan  tokoh utama dalam novel  
Ugly  karya Constance Briscoe. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis  data dalam penelitian  ini   ialah
deskriptif   analisis   dan   analisis   isi.   Metode   deskriptif   analisis   yaitu   metode   yang   menggunakan   cara
mendeskripsikan   fakta-fakta   (data)   yang   kemudian   disusul   dengan   anlisis.   Metode   dalam   penelitian   ini
menggunakan   pendekatan   kualitatif  melalui   pengamatan   di   setiap   isi   cerita   yang   terdapat   bentuk-bentuk
perjuangan.  bentuk-  bentuk perjuangan  tersebut  mencakup bentuk perjuangan kehidupan sosial   tokoh utama,
bentuk perjuangan kebutuhan ekonomi kehidupan tokoh utama, bentuk perjuangan hukum tokoh utama, bentuk
perjuanagn pendidikan  tokoh utama.  Hasil  penelitian secara  teoretis menghasilkan konsep mengenai  bentuk
perjuangan   tokoh   utama   perempuan   dalam memperjuangkan   hak-hak   dan  martabat   perempuan   dalam
kaitannya dengan feminisme. Secara praktis, penelitian ini menghasilkan model penelitian yang dapat dijadikan
rujukan bagi  peneliti   sastra,   khususnya penelitian  yang menggunakan  teori   sastra  feminisme.  Khusus  yang

didalamnya mengkaji aspek Perjuangan.Kata Kunci: Feminisme, Perempuan, Perjuangan

Abstract
The Ugly novel the work of Constance Briscoe was the form of the existence of the woman who wanted to fight  
for the female rights that were claimed by the man. The leading figure Clear was the independent female noose
that could satisfy the requirement for his life personally. The struggle that was carried out by the leading figure  
Clear  was his struggle  in maintaining  the  rights and martabat   the woman,  as well  as opposed  injustice  that
happened in the everyday life. The formulation of the problem in this research was about 1. How the form of the  
struggle for the social life of the main leading figure in the Ugly novel the work of Constance Briscoe, 2. How
the form of the struggle for the requirement for lifef economics of the main leading figure in the Ugly novel the  
work of Constance Briscoe, 3. How the form of the struggle for the leading figure's main law in the Ugly novel  
the work of Constance Briscoe, 4. How the form of the struggle for the leading figure's main education in the
Ugly novel the work of Constance Briscoe. This research purpose was 1. Described the form of the struggle for
the social life of the main leading figure i the Ugly novel the work of Constance Briscoe, 2. Ddescribed the form of the struggle for the requirement for life economics of the main leading figure in the Ugly novel the work of  
Constance Briscoe, 3. Described the form of the struggle for the leading figure's main law in the Ugly novel the

Ugly novel the work of Constance Briscoe. The method that was used to analyse the data in this research was  
descriptive the analysis and the analysis of the contents. The descrptive method the analysis that is the method
that used the method of describing facts (the data) the afterwards was followed with analisis. The method in this  
research used the qualitative approach through observation in each the contents related that was met by forms the
struggle. The form- the form of this struggle to include the form of the struggle for the social life of the main
leading  figure,   the  form of   the struggle  for   the  leading  figure's main  law,   the  form  the struggle  the  leading  
figure's main education. Results of the research theoretically produces the concept concerning the form of the
struggle  for   the main  leading  figure of   the woman  in  fighting  for   the  rights and  the  self-esteem woman  in
connection with him with feminism. Pratically,  this research produced the research model that could be made
reconciliation for  the  literature researcher,  especially  the research  that used  the  theory of feminism  literature.  
Especially that inside studied the aspect of the Struggle.
