This research used pre-experimental design with a research draft of one group pretest-posttest. This study used two class subjects, namely class VII-C as many as 30 students and class VII-D as many as 30 students which is conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Sidoarjo. The data collection technique in the form of description questions test was related to science process skills which is given before and after learning. It showed that there is an increase in the completeness of science process skills, the percentage and the n-gain on each indicator of science process skills, as well as the n-gain test on the results of the pretest and posttest in both classes with the high category. The n-gain result in VII-C class was 0.77, while VII-D class was 0.79. This&nbsp;research used pre-experimental design with&nbsp;One-Group Pre-test-Post-test design&nbsp;type. This study was conducted at JHS 1 Sidoarjo because of the students'&nbsp;critical thinking skills were&nbsp;low and guided inquiry learning model has never been applied. The method of this research is descriptive quantitative. Observation of guided inquiry implementation, critical thinking skills test and student response questionnaires were data collection methods that used in this study.&nbsp;The research results obtained data: (1) The implementation of guided inquiry in 7F and 7G obtained score percentage above 81% with excellent category. (2) There was an increase in the percentage of achievement from each indicator of critical thinking skills. An increase of critical thinking skills in 7F and 7G were 0.75 and 0.82 with high category based on n-gain score. (3) The results of the response of students showed a positive response as evidenced by the results of questionnaire percentage 93% and 96% with excellent category. The research design used is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The research object used in this study was the science textbook with three different publishers, that are Kemendikbud, Erlangga, and Quadra. The research instrument used in this study was an observation sheet arranged based on STEM components. The data collection technique was conducted by observing three types of science books related to the STEM component in the pressure chapter. The data analysis technique used in this research is content analysis. This study adds up the emergence of STEM components in textbooks, then presented in percentage form, after that determines the average percentage of STEM components analyzed from science textbooks, and finally provides descriptive analysis based on the data that has been obtained in each science textbook. The results of this study indicate that the three books analyzed contain STEM components in them. The average percentage of the emergence of STEM components in these three books is the science component of 56,7%, the technology component of 10,7%, the engineering component of 16,2% and the mathematics component of 16,3%. This research uses a descriptive analysis method that is qualitative in nature with data analysis techniques in the form of observation of assessment based on flipped learning, tests, questionnaires. The results of this study are the implementation of the flipped learning based assessment that has been carried out to get very good results, seen at all meetings it has an average result of 3.8 which means that in the flipped learning based assessment the implementation is effective in learning. The results of the attitude assessment show that students have very good attitude criteria during the learning process. The assessment of knowledge shows that all students have a value above the KKM, which means that students understand the material taught online through flipped learning. While the skills assessment is carried out by means of a portfolio assessment which provides an overview related to the achievement of the results of students having an average value that meets the minimum completeness criteria. This type of research is categorized as descriptive quantitative. The participants selected in this study were students of class VIII B, with 35 students. The instrument used in this study was a test instrument with 18 multiple choice questions covering 6 SPS indicators and a non-test instrument in the form of a questionnaire containing 20 selected questions. This research using&nbsp; descriptive data analysis techniques. The research’s results are obtaining an average SPS level for class VIII B students in the sufficient group with a percentage of 52%. The highest skill is in the conclusion indicator with percentage of 74%, while the students’ lowest skill is in the indicator measuring with a large percentage of 20%. For the average student interest in learning using media, it falls into the very interested group with a total percentage of 74.2%. It can be concluding that the level of SPS for grade VIII B students of SMP Negeri 62 Surabaya is in the sufficient group so that there is a need for improvement in the SPS-based learning process and students' interest in online learning is in the very interested group so that media is Microsoft Teams suitable for use in the learning process. The data collection technique used critical thinking skill test method in form of 12 items essay questions and quisionare method in form of validation and analysis sheets aimed at expert lectures and science teacher. The test instrument that has been developed was tested to obtain empirical validation on 26 students of SMP Negeri 1 Gresik who were randomly selected. The obtained data were further analyzed descriptively using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The data analysis results which have been carried out, shows that the developed test instrument is eligible for measuring students critical thinking skill. This is evidenced from the results of the theoretical validation by experts over the developed instrument had a very good categorized mode by 5. In addition, the developed instrument has a valid criteria (r<sub>count</sub> &gt; r<sub>table</sub>) and highly categorized Cronbach Alpha reliability level by 0,889. The research design used One Shot Case Study. This research was conducted on 31 students from two classes, there are class VIII A and class VIII C at SMP Negeri 2 Mojosari. The results of data collection were analyzed using the average value of the posttest questions and the results of the scores in class VIII A were 81 and VIII C was 88 so that the average value of the two classes was 84.5. The results of the scores to achieve the criteria for the conceptual understanding indicator based on the aspect of understanding such as the indicator interpreting the highest value of 58 and the lowest of 50, exemplifying the highest value of 59 and the lowest of 56, classifying the highest value of 54 and the lowest of 53, summarizing the highest value of 61 and the lowest is 56, inferring the highest value is 48 and the lowest is 46, comparing the highest value of 51 and the lowest of 45 and explaining the highest value of 64 and the lowest of 57 and the percentage value of completeness that is seen based on the calculation of the percentage of indicators of understanding the concept of class VIII A a percentage of 52% and class VIII C obtained a percentage value of 56% with the completeness category quite effective. The completeness value of science subjects is 73, therefore grades VIII A and VIII C have exceeded the standard of KKM values and it is also proven that the mind mapping strategy is effective enough to be carried out in distance or online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Determination of the sample using&nbsp;purposive sampling technique&nbsp;in the form of two books, namely the student’s book of Sciences SMP/MTs class VIII Semester 1 Curriculum 2013 revised edition 2017 published by the Ministry of Education and Culture as book 1 and the Science book TERPADU Junior High School Class VIII Curriculum 2013 revised edition 2016 published by Yudhistira as a book 2, in the same chapter, namely the Chapter Structure and Function of Plants. This research used case study method with the research subject 5 science teacher and 15 students from 3 junior high school in Watulimo. The research instrument consisted of a questionnaire of teachers and students, with data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the research show that there are constraints derived from internal factors and external factors of the students. In addition there are also constraints that come from the teacher. Some of these constraints affect the low SPS students. Solution for the application of science process skills can be maximally implemented including, 1) the teacher should develop instruments such special student worksheet for assessing science process skills; 2) teachers need to familiarize the application of science process skills in science learning. The method used survey research. The research participants were students of SMP Negeri 1 Sumberrejo grade VII, VIII and IX totaling 90 students. The research instrument used was a learning motivation questionnaire sheet model of Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction (ARCS), with a total statements of 20 numbers. Data collection techniques used through questionnaires distributed online via Google Form. The results of this research indicate that the level of student learning motivation in online learning at SMP Negeri 1 Sumberrejo in the ARCS aspect respectively is 66%, 73%, 64% and 69%. The conclusion of this research is that all of the students' learning motivation based on the ARCS aspect is still in the sufficient category. This also affects student learning outcomes where the level of completeness of student learning outcomes shows less well. The application of the assessment is reviewed in an authentic assessment process which includes aspects of attitude, knowledge and skills. The subjects of this study were the principal and science teacher. The data collection process for this study used interview sheets, observation and documentation of lesson plans, assessment instruments, assessment rubrics and grid questions from five science teachers. The data analysis technique used to explore the data found was using Miles and Huberman's analysis techniques. The results showed that the implementation of authentic assessment has been implemented by science teachers at SMP Negeri Kudu. However, it is not supported by complete physical evidence of the appraisal instrument file and the assessment rubric that was attached to the preparation of the RPP at once. There are still some aspects of implementation that are not in accordance with the authentic assessment guidelines. Such as the assessment of the attitude aspect, sometimes it does not give students the opportunity to assess themselves and their peers, the skills aspect of the assessment rubric preparation that is used is sometimes still not included in the learning device before the practical assessment is carried out. It can be concluded that the application of authentic assessment during the Covid-19 pandemic is very difficult to do in accordance with the assessment systematics because educators cannot directly assess the learning process of students in order to get results that are what they are. Experimental design was used in this study with One Group Pre-test Post-test design with a total 23 students in one class. The instrument in data collection was in the form of TTMC (Two Tier Multiple Choice). The result of data analysis showed a decrease with an average students' misconceptions of 43.04%. The result of calculation with the McNemar test showed a value of 7.12 of χ<sup>2</sup> which was calculated on all indicators, then the result of χ<sup>2</sup> <sub>stat</sub>&nbsp;&gt; χ<sup>2</sup> <sub>table</sub>, so there was a significant conceptual change in all indicators and the value of effect size was 2.32 (high category). This research involved the research subjects of Grade 8 students of SMP Negeri 1 Gresik in the 2019/2020 Academic Year. The research sample was taken randomly from classes VIII F, VIII G, VIII H, VIII I, and VIII J. The data collection technique used a test instrument containing 15 scientific literacy questions, which were adopted from PISA questions and referred to several parameters for each aspect of scientific literacy. The test results were analyzed based on standard deviation and categorized into 3, namely: low, medium, and high categories. The results showed that the level of scientific literacy of 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Gresik in the low category was 12%, the medium category was 68%, and the high category was 20%. As for the achievement of each indicator of scientific literacy, different percentages were obtained. The conclusions of this study indicate the tendency of the level of scientific literacy of students of SMP Negeri 1 Gresik to be in the medium category. The research design used the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research subjects used were students of class VIII-A of SMPN 1 Sumberrejo, Bojonegoro Regency, with a total of 26 students. This research used a test sheet and a questionnaire. The results of data collection were analyzed using the average value to measure the implementation of learning, calculate the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) test to determine the category of improving pretest and posttest results and calculate the percentage in each question to measure student responses. In this research, the results of the Normalized Gain test obtained by the students showed that 87% of students scored in the high category and showed that there was an increase between the results of the pretest and posttest. Student response of 57% of students gave a score of 4 to the platform Smartify in other words they agreed that the platform Smartify could be used as an alternative to online learning and could improve learning outcomes. A total of 43% of them gave a score of 5 in other words they strongly agree regarding the platform Smartify which can be used as an alternative to online learning and can improve learning outcomes. The research method used in this research was descriptive survey with a quantitative approach. The subjects determination in this research were purposive sampling. Subjects in this research&nbsp; were 36 students of VIII grade at SMPN 58 Surabaya. The research instruments used were science process skills test sheets. Data collection techniques in this research were test. The test technique uses multiple choice questions. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis. The results of students' science process skills such as student’s observing skills got 81.94% with high category, classifying skills got 69.44% with high category, predicting skills got 25.00% with low category, formulating skills’ problems got 37.50% with medium category, the skill to formulate hypotheses got 45.83% with medium category, the skill to determine the variable got 8.33% with the low category, investigating skills got 18.36% with the low category, data analysis skills got 16.67% with the low category, concluding skills got a percentage 18.05% with low category, communicating skills got 4.05% with the low category. The type of research used is experimental. The subject of the study was smpn 58 Surabaya grade VII-A students who numbered 30. The research instruments are written communication skills test sheets totaling five description questions, observation sheets of discovery learning implementation, and student response questionnaires. Data collection techniques are carried out by test, observation, and questionnaire methods. The research data was analyzed through the results of the implementation of the discovery learning model, written communication skills test sheet, and student response questionnaire data. The results of the implementation of learning at the first meeting and the second meeting obtained a percentage between 93.75%-100% with an excellent category, N-Gain score on the indicator describes the object scored 0.90 with a high category, the indicator applies the concept of knowledge appropriately and according to the material and clarifies with supporting sentences obtain a score of 0.54 with a moderate category, indicators make tables and graphs score 0.81 with a high category, indicators analyze and process observation data through tables and graphs get a score of 0.82 with a high category, and indicators write the results of activities of an event obtained a score of 0.98 with a high category, N-Gain scores for all indicators of written communication skills were obtained 0.81 with a high category, and in the questionnaire the student response obtained an overall average of 86.67% aspects with excellent categories. The feasibility of problem based learning-oriented ebooks obtained an average validation score of 95% which belongs to very good criteria and an average students’ responses score of 88,67% which belongs to very good criteria. The ability of students to think critically increases after using problem based learning-oriented ebook by the average N-gain score of 0,4197 which belongs to the moderate category. Learning implementation using problem based learning-oriented ebooks gets a very good response from the students by the average score of 87%. The instrument in data was in the sheets of learning plan, sheet of pre-test and post-test science process skills, and questionnaires to determine student responses from learning activities. The research subjects used was the students of class VII E as an experiment group and class VII C as a control group at SMPN 1 Sidoarjo by using cluster random sampling technique where the subjects were randomly selected. The type of this research was quantitative. The technique of collecting the data on the student learning motivation through the ARCS type motivation questionnaire was given twice which was before and after the treatment. N-Gain was used to analyze the results of the ARCS type motivation questionnaire. The results of student motivation showed that the motivation of the experimental group was greater than the control group. This research was a Pre-Experimental Design using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of this study were 22 students of VIII-F class at SMPN 1 Gresik in the 2020/2021 academic year. The data collection techniques used a self-assessment test method and questionnaire method in the form of a pre-post self-regulation questionnaire based on seven essential indicators in the LASSI (Learning and Study Strategies Inventory) Instrument. The self-assessment sheet used to practice students' self-regulation abilities during the learning process and the self-regulation questionnaire used to determine achievement and improvement on each student's self-regulation indicator. Through the self-regulation questionnaire, it was found that students' self-regulation abilities had an average increase of 30% (N-Gain: moderate). This increase occurred because through self-assessment, students became more accustomed to assessing and criticizing the process and also the achievement of their own online learning at their homes. All indicators of students' self-regulation ability in online science learning have been achieved in the good category. The highest increase occurred in the motivation indicator (N-Gain: 0.32), while the lowest increase occurred in the self-testing indicator (N-Gain: 0.05). Through the self-assessment sheet, it was found that 86.36% of students had a very good category of self-regulation ability. The results showed there was student misconceptions on human respiratory system materials that consist of structure concept and function of the human respiratory organs, respiratory mechanisms, respiratory frequency, respiratory volume and diseases human respiratory system. HOTS learning can improve student thinking skills at a higher level. Teachers have a very important role in making students skilled in solving problems so that they are required to be able to apply learning that can train students to think at higher levels (HOTS). This study aims to know high order thinking skills of Muhammdiyah Junior High School student in science learning. Participants in this study were 58 students from Muhammadiyah Junior High Schools in Jombang Regency. This study used a descriptive qualitative research with test of LOTS and HOTS. The results of the data show that students are able to work on HOTS questions only up to the analysis, namely C4. However, students are already good at working on C1, C2 and C4 questions with a percentage above 70%, it is high. The subjects in the study were VII A class as an experimental class and VII C class as a control class at SMPN 33 Surabaya. The research design that had been used was quantitative with pretest-posttest control group that has experimental group and control group. The implementation of learning was measured by the data of learning readiness observation homework. The collection of student motivation data using ARCS questionnaire techniques. Student learning results were obtained from the calculation of pretest-posttest scores that had been analyzed through independent t-tests and N-gain. The results of the implementation of learning had shown the experimental class had better implementation than the control class. Motivational analysis obtained had shown the experimental class had a higher motivation in each indicator compared to the control class. Student learning outcomes from an independent sample t-test analysis had shown a probability of 0.001, so there was a significant difference between experimental class learning outcomes and control classes. The average N-gain of experimental graders was 0.71 in the high category, while the control class was 0.40 in the low category. The overall results of the analysis had shown that online learning with an ethnoscience approach was effective for improving students' motivation and learning outcomes. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive method. The subject of the study was 30 students of grade VII E smp negeri 1 Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques using research instruments in the form of knowledge sheets of Life Organization System Materials and questionnaires of student responses to online learning. The data collection process is done online through Google Forms. The results obtained indicate that the classical student learning outcomes are 76,67% in the complete category. Judging from the completion of individual knowledge learning outcomes, there were 23 students declared complete and 7 students declared incomplete. The results of the questionnaire on student responses to online learning at SMP Negeri 1 Sidoarjo were presented using percentage diagrams. The average percentage obtained is that 94.18% of students have the availability of tools or facilities used during online learning, 76,66% of students have an interest in online learning, 72.20% of students state that the materials submitted by teachers during online learning are relevant. In addition, 66.66% of students have obstacles during online learning, and 72.20% of students are satisfied with the results obtained during online learning. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that students have some obstacles experienced online learning such as feeling bored and lack of understanding of the materials taught. These barriers can be a factor that affects student learning outcomes.
