Comparative study is the type of research used. The study was carried out using two classes where there were 30 people in each class. A two-group pretest-posttest design research design was used in this study. The test method is a data collection technique applied in this study. The results of the study show that students' understanding of the concept of waves in the pretest and posttest using the Mann-Whitney test was obtained respectively 0.546 and 0.058 > 0.05, which means there is no significant difference in both the pretest and posttest in understanding the concept of students' waves between virtual lab-based classes. as well as real lab-based classes. The type of research is quantitative pre-experiment with one group pretest posttest design research design which was tested on 30 students. The instruments used are observation sheets (assessment of attitudes, and skills), and test sheets pretest-postest. The data obtained were then analyzed by score analysis and attitude and skill assessment criteria, and test analysis with Shapiro Wilk normality test, Wilcoxon hypothesis test, and N-Gain. The results showed that the application of the TGT cooperative learning model increased, in terms of the increase in pretest and posttest which obtained an average N-Gain of 0.77 in the high category. Attitude learning outcomes also improved from meetings I, II, and III with an average of 82.22 in the very good category. In addition, the students' skill learning outcomes obtained an average of 84.38 with very good criteria. Based on the results of the research, it was concluded that the application of the TGT cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes.
Fai'dun Ni'am Wahono Widodo ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2023-12-31 2023-12-31 11 3 219 225 PENINGKATAN SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS SISWA MELALUI MODEL EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PADA MATERI GETARAN https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/pensa/article/view/53797
This purposed of this research was to describe improving student’s science process skills through an experiential learning model. Learning that combines knowledge, skills and experiences from the past or directly to construct, can also make students easy to understand the material. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of experiential learning model integrated with peer instruction. Intervention study design was used in the study with 30 participants in class VIII in one of the junior high schools in Surabaya city. The collection technique used was observation with an implementation sheet and Stalling classroom snapshot. The data results obtained from three meetings were very well implemented. The κ score obtained indicates a good agreement relationship between the two observers. In student activities that are often observed by observers are conducting experiments and discussing. Student activity can be said in learning that runs active students. Engagement with peers can improve students' understanding because they are exposed to their peers' thinking and participate in creating shared understanding. The experiential learning model integrated with peer instruction can make students become active and directly involved in learning, and emphasize experience so that it will be memorable for students. This learning model can be a good alternative for teachers in teaching in the classroom.
Catur Surya Saputra Ahmad Qosyim Muhamad Arif Mahdiannur ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2023-12-31 2023-12-31 11 3 243 249 PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN INKUIRI TERBIMBING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS PESERTA DIDIK PADA MATERI SISTEM PERNAPASAN MANUSIA https://ejournal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/pensa/article/view/55745
This study aimed at improving students' critical thinking skills through the application of the guided inquiry model in learning material about the human respiratory system. The importance of providing direct experiences and practical activities in learning is to help students develop their competencies in exploring and understanding the surrounding environment through a scientific approach. The purpose of this research is to determine the implementation of guided inquiry learning model based on ethnoscience. The intervention study design was used in the research with 32 participants involved, who were eighth-grade students at one of SMP in Sukoharjo. The data collection technique used was observation with an implementation sheet. The results obtained from the two meetings were carried out very well. The κ score obtained indicates a good agreement relationship between the two observers. In student activities that were often observed by the observer, they investigated scientific phenomena and conducted experiments. Learning activities with guided inquiry learning model based on ethnoscience, students can learn about science and technology used in playing gamelan as well as appreciate the diversity of Indonesian culture. A culturally responsive science learning model can be a good choice for teachers in teaching Science because it can facilitate students to better understand the learning materials.
Aditya Tri Handoko Beni Setiawan ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2023-12-31 2023-12-31 11 3 288 293
