Abstract

The world of construction requires innovation and alternatives to make new innovation materials that are more
advanced. The alternative needed is in the form of materials that are environmentally friendly and easily accessible. In
particular, lightweight concrete can add an alternative in the form of lower-cost building materials by utilizing natural waste
whose contents can add strength to lightweight concrete. This study uses the addition of husk ash which is the result of
combustion waste and has a fairly high silica composition. The purpose of this study was to determine the compressive
strength, water absorption, volume weight of lightweight concrete and the optimal use of rice husk ash in cellular lightweight
concrete.
The method used is an experimental method whose process is carried out in a laboratory by producing quantitative
data. By observing in each experimental process to get maximum results. In the addition of rice husk ash, it has several
variations of additions of 0%, 10%, 13%, 15%, 18%, 20%, 23% and 25% of the specimens made. Data collection was taken
by making test objects in the form of a 5x5x5 cm3 cube with specimens aged 3, 7, 14, 21, and 28 days. The results of the study
with the addition of rice husk ash, namely the highest compressive strength of lightweight concrete at 10% variation of 0.98
MPa with a volume weight of 0.85gr/cm3, while at a variation of 0.0% obtained a compressive strength of 0.85 MPa with a
volume weight of 0.86gr/cm3, with the test object at the age of 28 days.
