THE INTEGRATION OF CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS FOR DAM PROJECT USING 5D BIM

From Q4 2021 to Q3 2023, Indonesia recorded significant economic growth, with the construction sector contributing 9.8% to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Indonesia. This study applies Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the Bagong Dam project with the aim of improving efficiency in construction sector. This study implemented 3D BIM for structural design modeling, along with 4D and 5D BIM for schedule integration and cost estimation on the Bagong Dam project in Trenggalek Regency. The methodology combines literature review and BIM implementation using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks Manage. Initially, a 3D model was created to calculate material volumes for each work package, then integrated with scheduling and cost estimation using Navisworks.
The analysis shows Autodesk Revit’s advantage in producing accurate material volume calculations, with a volume difference of 7.01% or 254,739.66 m³ for the main dam and only a 0.03% difference for the diversion tunnel concrete. The 4D and 5D simulations in Navisworks suggest the project appears 100% complete; however, contract data shows actual progress differs, with tasks like dam embankment and spillway still in early stages. This study demonstrates that BIM integration improves coordination efficiency but must align with field progress for more accurate cost and schedule estimates.
