EFFECT OF BOTTOM ASH ADDITION ON COMPACTION VALUE AND CALIFORNIA BEARING RATIO (CBR)
On Clay Soil in Kedamean-Dawarbelandong Road Section

Roads are one of the infrastructure facilities that are needed to support life. The bearing capacity of the subgrade is very influential on the condition of the road. The kedamean-dawarbelandong road has a type of subgrade soil in the form of expansive clay. For this reason, it is necessary to improve the soil based on the CBR value of the soil. This study aims to determine the effect of bottom ash addition on the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) value with the percentage of bottom ash addition of 22%, 27%, 32% and 37%. The tests carried out include Atterberg limit test (plastic limit, liquid limit and plasticity index), soil specific gravity test, compaction test (standard proctor test) and California Bearing Ratio test. The results showed that the addition of bottom ash can cause an increase in the CBR value of soil up to a certain percentage, after passing the maximum percentage, the CBR value decreased again as the percentage of bottom ash increased. From the results of the research, the CBR values obtained at the percentage of bottom ash addition of 0%, 22%, 27%, 32% and 37% are 10%, 13.36%, 13%, 12.25% and 7.36%
