Abstract

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study is to evaluate the existing drainage channel and redesign an effective drainage system along Jalan Raya Parengan. The flooding that occurs is caused by high rainfall that exceeds the capacity of the existing drainage channel. This research applies a quantitative approach using primary data from field surveys and secondary data in the form of 10 years of rainfall records obtained from the Public Works and Water Resources Office of Lamongan Regency. The design rainfall is calculated using the Pearson Type III distribution method, while the channel discharge is analyzed using the Manning formula. The analysis results show that the planned flood discharge is 0.162 m³/second for the left side and 0.213 m³/second for the right side, while the capacity of the existing channel is only 0.025 m³/second. Therefore, it is necessary to redesign the channel using precast concrete material with dimensions of 0.8 m x 0.8 m for the left side, with a water height of 0.35 m during flood discharge, and 0.8 m x 1.0 m for the right side, with a water height of 0.43 m during flood discharge. This redesign is expected to reduce flood risk and support the smooth flow of community activities along Jalan Raya Parengan, Lamongan Regency.
