Roads serve as the primary means of community mobility and interregional connectivity. However, many roads are~ constructed on subgrade soils with low bearing capacity, making them unable to withstand traffic loads. Therefore, soil improvement through stabilization methods is necessary. One environmentally friendly alternative stabilization material is chicken eggshell powder, which contains calcium carbonate that can enhance soil strength. This study aims to evaluate the effect of adding chicken eggshell powder on the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) value of clay soil along the Dawarbelandong–Kedamean road in Gresik Regency. The research was conducted through laboratory experiments by mixing clay soil with eggshell powder in varying proportions of 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30%. The tests performed included Atterberg limits, specific gravity, standard Proctor compaction, and CBR tests. The results indicated that the highest CBR value was achieved with a 15% eggshell powder mixture, reaching 15.92% at 0.1" penetration and 15.61% at 0.2" penetration, compared to untreated soil. However, increasing the eggshell content beyond 15% resulted in a gradual decline in CBR values. Thus, chicken eggshell powder can be considered an effective soil stabilizing agent up to a certain optimal content.
