Abstract

Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is a recycled asphalt technology that can be utilized as a substitute for aggregate in asphalt mixtures. The modification of bitumen by adding Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) is one of the efforts to enhance the quality of road pavements, making them more durable and capable of performing optimally under various conditions.The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of temperature on the performance of different types of asphalt mixtures, including those involving high-temperature processes (Hot Mix Asphalt) and those using moderate-temperature methods (Warm Mix Asphalt). It also aims to compare the performance of wearing course asphalt (Laston) using a combination of hot and warm mix asphalt, formulated with Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) and modified with Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA). This study is based on a quantitative approach, using an experimental method conducted in a laboratory setting. The results indicate that the temperature used during specimen preparation significantly affects both the workability and the strength of the test specimens. An increase in production temperature facilitates better mixing of bitumen and aggregates, as higher temperatures allow the bitumen to bond more easily with the aggregate, which positively impacts the strength of the specimens. The Marshall test focuses on two key indicators: the stability and the flow value of the Warm Mix Asphalt RAP mixture of 855 Kg and Hot RAP 898 Kg and Warm EVA 852 Kg and Hot EVA 910 Kg. Flow values obtained from the test results show the value of Warm RAP 2.4 Hot RAP 3.3 Warm EVA 3.0 Hot EVA 3.4.
