PUSHOVER ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURAL PERFORMANCE BASED ON SHEAR WALL LAYOUT VARIATIONS

The placement of shear walls within a building must be coordinated with the overall structural configuration, as it can influence the structure’s mass distribution and, consequently, its seismic response. Therefore, a comprehensive evaluation is required to ensure that the structural performance remains optimal. This study investigates the seismic performance of the Samaview Residence Apartment building by examining three alternative shear wall layout models. The analysis was conducted conducted with the pushover analysis procedure, supported by the ETABS V18.1.1 structural analysis software. Based on FEMA 440 parameters, the pushover analysis indicates that the existing shear wall configuration yields drift ratios of 1.43% (LS) along the X direction and 1.363% (LS) along the Y direction. Model 1 demonstrates improved performance with drift ratios of 0.33% (IO) and 0.51% (IO) along the X and Y directions, respectively. Model 2 records drift ratios of 1.33% (LS) along the X direction and 1.179% (LS) along the Y direction, while Model 3 shows drift ratios of 1.08% (LS) along the X direction and 1.183% (LS) along the Y direction.
