Abstract

Nganjuk Regency is one of the areas that are still carried out the process of building the Semantok Dam.  The current condition of Sambikerep village affected by the dam resulted in a decrease in income and professional alinh. The purpose of the study to describe socioeconomic conditions includes the livelihoods, income, and expenditures of the people of Sambikerep village of Rejoso District of Nganjuk Regency in the process of building Semantok Dam.

The sample in this study was the entire population. Data collection techniques using questionnaires include livelihoods, income and expenses, as well as documentation from BPS Rejoso Subdistrict. The data that has been obtained is analyzed using deskiptive analysis.

The results showed that 37% of the farmers in Sambikerep Village changed their professions to become farm laborers, but had a side job as wood seekers. As many as 74% of respondents have elementary/MI education so it is difficult to get jobs that require expertise so that people still work in fields that are not far from their original jobs. The decrease in income by 13.63% occurred in respondents who had jobs as traders, farmers and farm laborers because respondents at the time of the reservoir construction were still unable to adapt to new jobs. There was an increase in spending by 10.85% of traders who were previously farmers and farm laborers who previously worked as farmers because they were used for business capital needs and increased living needs.
