Abstract

Abstrak

Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan acuan standar baku mutu air menurut PERMENKES RI No. 492/ MENKES/ PER/ IV/2010 dan PPRI No.82 Tahun 2001 Kelas I.

Abstract

  1. Jaya Kertas is one of the developing paper wastewater treatment industries in Kertosono. The majority of paper production activities use chlorine bleach which is very harmful to humans. Complaints about the quality of shallow groundwater felt by local residents included cloudy, discolored and smelly water, which made residents suspect that shallow groundwater was polluted by paper industry wastewater. The purpose of this study were: 1) to determine impact of paper liquid waste effluent on groundwater quality and 2) to determine public perceptions regarding waste from PT. Jaya Kertas.

This type of research uses a mix of quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The research location was in Klinter Hamlet, Pelem Village, Kertosono District, Nganjuk. Determination of the sample for the interview method using the Cluster Sampling technique, namely residents who live 50 meters north of the discharge outlet point in the river where it was polluted during the research period. Determination of the sample to get as many as 20 respondents. Data analysis used descriptive quantitative with reference to water quality standards according to PERMENKES RI No. 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 and PP RI No. 82 Tahun 2001 class 1.

The results of this study indicate that; 1) the results of a literature study for the parameters of turbidity, hardness, lead, DO and Ecoli exceed the established quality standards. Local community activities in fulfilling their daily needs for drinking, bathing and washing are also threatened. 2) The public's perception regarding the impact of paper liquid waste in the Klinter River, Pelem Village, Kertosono District on the quality of shallow groundwater is now much improved and feels only a 20% impact compared to during the first study in 2019.
