Abstract

This research discusses the factors that influence the decisions of class X students at SMA Negeri 10 Surabaya in choosing specialization study groups. Students have been given the freedom to determine their own study groups and specialization subjects since the implementation of the independent curriculum. Students in choosing study groups and specialization subjects are influenced by several factors, so it is necessary to analyze the factors that influence students' decisions. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence students' decisions in choosing study groups individually and simultaneously.  The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a sample of 33 students from 386 populations with Proportionate Random Sampling sample calculations, data acquisition tests consisting of validity, reliability, classical assumption tests, coefficient of determination tests, regression analysis, and F significance tests. Which is assisted by using the SPSS application. The results of the research analysis show the factors that influence students' decisions in choosing a study group from the 3 X variables studied, namely learning outcomes (X1), interests (X2), motivation (X3). The calculation results using multiple linear regression Y= -1.650a-0.013X1+0.138X2+0.442X3=-1.083, which means it has a negative influence. Each variable was tested using simple regression variable (X1) Y= 0.716a+0.789X1=1.514, variable (X2) Y= 0.716a+0.060X2=0.776, variable (X3) Y= 0.716a+0.001X3=0.717. Each variable has a sig value of 0.716 for the learning outcome variable (X1), for the interest variable (X2) 0.060, for the motivation variable (X3) 0.000. The results of the analysis show that the motivation variable (X3) has the greatest influence on students' decision making, indicated by a sig value <0.05. These findings can be used as a basis for improving things that refer to students' interests in determining their choices.
