Abstract

Star fruit is an icon of Blitar City which is currently being developed in Karangsari Village. However, in its development, efforts are still needed to introduce and improve the quality of star fruit management, both in terms of planting, marketing and distribution. The purpose of this research is to find out the distribution of land suitability that is suitable for use for star fruit plants of the Averrhoa Carambola L. type as an effort to increase the branding of Blitar City.

This research method uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach with tools and materials in the form of SRTM satellite images, Shapefiles of the research area as well as the basis for data processing using Qgis. The data collection technique used is map digitization and map layout based on stratified random sampling. The analysis uses scoring and overlay techniques in software based on land suitability values

This research shows that the distribution of land suitability for starfruit plants of the Averrhoa Carambola L type in Blitar City has a high level of land suitability and has the potential for almost the entire area of Blitar City. The results of the analysis show that there are three land suitability classes, namely S1 or suitable, S2 or less suitable and N or not suitable. This is indicated by soil factors, topography, and climatic conditions that are suitable for this type of star fruit plant. The Blitar City area has a land suitability level of 80% of the total area of Blitar City. The main limiting factors in each class are the height of the place and the existing soil conditions.
