PENGARUH FAKTOR SOSIAL DAN EKONOMI ORANG TUA TERHADAP BUTA AKSARA ANAK USIA SEKOLAH DI KECAMATAN SUMBER WRINGIN KABUPATEN BONDOWOSO

Abstract

Buta aksara merupakan salah satu penyebab terbelakangnya pembangunan sumber daya
manusia. Pada tahun 2007 tingkat buta aksara di Kabupaten Bondowoso berada diperingkat
kelima di Jawa Timur. Tingkat buta aksara pada usia sekolah di Kecamatan Sumber Wringin
pada tahun 2011 berada diurutan pertama di Kabupaten Bondowoso. Buta aksara anak usia
sekolah dengan prosentase sebesar 0,174% terbesar dari seluruh kecamatan yang ada di
Kabupaten Bondowoso. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang berpengaruh
terhadap buta aksara anak usia sekolah di Kecamatan Sumber Wringin dilihat dari kondisi
sosial orang tua dan kondisi ekonomi orang tua. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan case
control. Penelitian ini mengambil wilayah Kecamatan Sumber Wringin sebagai obyek penelitian
dari 23 Kecamatan di Kabupaten Bondowoso. Responden yang diambil sebanyak 110 responden
yang terdiri dari (55 kasus buta aksara dan 55 kontrol), dengan faktor yang dikendalikan jenis
pekerjaan kepala keluarga. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, faktor berpengaruh terhadap buta
aksara anak usia sekolah di Kecamatan Sumber Wringin Kabupaten Bondowoso adalah kondisi
sosial dan kondisi ekonomi orang tua. Dengan uji chi square didapat bahwa variabel kondisi
sosial orang tua diperoleh nilai (p = 0,00 < α = 0,05) dengan OR sebesar 5,23, dan variabel
kondisi ekonomi orang tua diperoleh nilai (p = 0,00 < α = 0,05) dengan OR sebesar 7,87.
Artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap buta aksara anak usia sekolah di Kecamatan
Sumber Wringin Kabupaten Bondowoso. Hasil uji regresi logistik berganda, faktor yang paling
berpengaruh terhadap buta aksara anak usiasekolah di Kecamatan Sumber Wringin Kabupaten
Bondowoso adalah keadaan ekonomi orang tua dengan nilai Exp. (B) sebesar 0,126.

Abstract

Illiteracy is one of the causes of backwardness of human resource development. In 2007 the
literacy rate in the district was rated fifth Bondowoso in East Java. Illiteracy rate of school age
in the district in 2011 Wringin source comes out first in the District Bondowoso. Illiteracy among
school-age children with the greatest percentage of 0.174% of all districts in the regency
Bondowoso. This study aims to investigate the factors that influence the illiterate school-age
children in the District Resource Wringin views of the social and economic conditions of the
elderly parents. The study used a case control. This research takes the District Resource Wringin
as an object of study in the District 23 District Bondowoso. Respondents were drawn as many as
110 respondents consisting of (55 cases and 55 controls illiteracy), the factors that controlled the
type of work the head of the family. Based on this research, the factors influence the illiterate
school-age children in the District Resource Wringin Bondowoso district is the social and
economic conditions of the elderly. With the chi square test found that the social condition
variable parents obtained value (p = 0.00 <α = 0.05) with an OR of 5.23, and variable economic
conditions of parents obtained value (p = 0.00 <α = 0.05) with an OR of 7.87. This means that
there is a significant effect on illiteracy among school-age children in the District Resource
Wringin Bondowoso district. The results of multiple logistic regression, the most influential
factor on illiteracy among school-age children in the District Resource Wringin Bondowoso
district is the economic condition of the parents to the value of Exp. (B) equal to 0,126.
