PENGEMBANGAN DESAIN GERABAH DI DESA NGADIREJO KECAMATAN RENGEL KABUPATEN TUBAN

Abstract

Gerabah merupakan salah satu produk kerajinan kabupaten Tuban. Produksi gerabah kurang berkembang baik dari segi bentuk, dekorasi, dan fungsinya, sehingga keberadaanya semakin tergeser dengan produk hasil mesin berteknologi tinggi. Upaya pelestarian perlu dilakukan agar gerabah Tuban dapat bertahan. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah; 1) Bagaimana karakteristik gerabah di Desa Ngadirejo Kecamatan Rengel Kabupaten Tuban?; 2) Bagaimana karakteristik tumbuhan siwalan yang terdapat di kabupaten Tuban?; 3) Bagaimana proses pengembangan gerabah di Desa Ngadirejo Kecamatan Rengel Kabupaten Tuban?;  dan 4) Bagaimana hasil pengembangan gerabah di Desa Ngadirejo Kecamatan Rengel Kabupaten Tuban? Dari rumusan masalah tersebut tujuannya untuk mengetahui 1.)  karakteristik gerabah di Desa Ngadirejo Kecamatan Rengel Kabupaten Tuban, 2)  karakteristik tumbuhan siwalan yang terdapat di kabupaten Tuban, 3) Proses pengembangan gerabah di Desa Ngadirejo Kecamatan Rengel Kabupaten Tuban, dan 4) hasil pengembangan gerabah di Desa Ngadirejo Kecamatan Rengel Kabupaten Tuban.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Research and Development. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dihasilkannya 31 buah desain untuk 10 macam produk. Selanjutnya dipilih 9 desain untuk diwujudkan, Dengan tanggapan dari Parlan, Konsumen gerabah dan Muchlif Arif yang menyatakan bahwa produk sudah bagus.

The pottery is one of the craft that located in Tuban district. But the production of potteryis less thriving in terms of shape, decoration and function so that excistence shifted to the production of  high-tech machines. Therefore, the artisans neeed to continue to develope form and the pottery ornaments. One of develop can be done through the exploration of  plants that typical of  the Tuban’s region.  To find a solution of the problem  above conducted research on the characteristics of the pottery ornaments Tuban. Characteristics of  plam plants that located in Tuban district.  then developed into the pottery ornaments accordance with the charateristics of palm plants. Then method that used in this research and development through a number of data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Dasisgn validation in 2 validation. The result from this study are 10 groups of the pottery ornaments  design. From each group selected to be turned into product design. Whith the responses from parlan, Muchlif Arif stating that the product produced  was a nice  although there are shortcoming  like delicacy  body  pottery
