PENGEMBANGAN DESAIN KERAJINAN TAS BERBAHAN DASAR DAUN PANDAN DI R&D HANDYCRAFT (Natural Exclusive Production) LAMONGAN

Abstract

Daun Pandan adalah jenis tumbuhan monokotil yang memiliki daun beraroma wangi yang khas. Salah satu UKM yang membuat Daun Pandan menjadi nilai jual yaitu di UKM R&D HandyCraft yang berada Lamongan. Pemilik bersama istrinya memulai usaha dari 2006 hingga sampai sekarang. Akan tetapi kurangnya kreativitas sehingga tidak banyak memproduksi. Dalam hal ini masyarakat kurang tertarik dengan tas dari bahan alam tersebut dan lebih memilih tas dari bahan lain. Sehingga tas tersebut perlu untuk dikembangan. Berdasarkan latar belakang yang terlihat, maka dirumuskan permasalahan yakni  bagaimana hasil penerapan pengembangan desain produk tas pada kerajinan daun pandan. Penelitian pengembangan produk  mengikuti langkah kerja (1) potensi masalah (2) pengumpulan data (3) Desain (4) Validasi desain (5) Revisi Desain (6) Produk Jadi. Proses penerapan pengembangan kerajinan daun pandan langkah awal yakni membuat desain, membuat sketsa terlebih dahulu, kemudian di scan dan dibentuk sekaligus mewarnai dengan program Corel. Kemudian dalam hasil langkah awal memperlihatkan desain kepada pengrajin dan membuatkan tas seperti contoh. Langkah kedua pengrajin memulai membuat tas dengan berbagai proses seperti membuat mal, menjiplak pola dengan spon topi, sehingga hasil dari proses tersebut menghasilkan berbagai macam tas, yaitu tas resmi,tas sekolah, tas pesta, dan tas sehari-hari.

Pandanus is a kind of monocotyl plants wich has the spesific leaft smell. One of “UKM” (Small Medium Enterprises) which makes pandanus having the seling value is R&D Handycraft which is located in lamongan. The owner and his wife have started the enterprises since 2006 until now. Because of lack of creatifity, they do not produce uch. In this case, the consumers are not guite interested with that bags with natural materials and rather choosing bags with others materials. As the result, that bags with natural materials should be developed.

According to the beckround, the problem of the study is how is the result of the development of pandanus bag handycraf design produc implementation. The product development study follows the work steps (1) roblem potential (2) data accumulation (3) design  (4) degisn validation (5) design revision (6) finished product. 

The implementation proces of pandanus handycraft development, the first step are making the design, making the sketch first then scnned, format, and colored by corel program. Next, for the result of the frst steps, is shows the desigen to the craftsman and produces bags like the sample, the second steps are the craftsman starts to produce bags by various prosess like making patters, tracing the pattern with the hat sponge, so that the result of that process produce many kinds of bag. Those are formal bags, school bags, party bags, and daily bags.
