PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK MELALUI  MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING PADA MATERI FLUIDA STATIS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJARA SISWA DI KELAS X SMA NEGERI 8 SURABAYA

Abstract

Penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 8 Surabaya bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran yang menerapkan pendekatan saintifik melalui model discovery learning, hasil belajar siswa, respons siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran, dan kendala-kendala yang ditemui saat diterapkan pendekatan saintifik melalui model discovery learning. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experimental design dengan desain one group pretest posttest design. Subyek penelitian adalah tiga kelas, yaitu kelas X MIA 6 sebagai kelas eksperimen, kelas X MIA 7 sebagai kelas replikasi 1, dan kelas X MIA 8 sebagai kelas replikasi 2. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes, observasi, dan angket.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran termasuk dalam kategori baik dan sangat baik. (2) Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa termasukdalam kategori tinggi. (3) Respons siswa setelah diterapkan pembelajaran berdasarkan analisis angket mendapat respons sangat baik dari siswa. (4) Kendala-kendala yang ditemui berkaitan dengan waktu, kedisiplinan siswa, kemampuan siswa pada keterampilan proses masih kurang dan saat mengerjakan lembar kerja siswa. Dengan demikian, penerapan pendekatan saintifik melalui model discovery learning pada materi fluida statis di SMA Negeri 8 Surabaya dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The research that has been conducted in class X SMAN 8 Surabaya aimed to describe feasibility learning  saintific approach through models discovery learning, describe student learning outcomes, describe the students response to the learning process, and describe the obstacles students when applied scientific approach through models discovery learning. This type of research is quasi experimental design with the design of one group pre-test post test design. Subjects were three classes, X MIA 6 as class experiment, X MIA 7 as class replication 1, and X MIA 8 as class replication 2. Data collected through test, observation, and questionnaires. The result showed that: (1) Feasibility learning included in the good and very good categories. (2) Improvement student learning outcomes included in the high categories. (3) Response of the students after applied based on the analysis of questionnaires received very good response from students. (4) The constraints encountered with regard to time ,the student discipline, the ability of students to the skills of the process is still lacking, and work ability of LKS. Thus, the application of scientific approach through models discovery learning to the materials static fluid in SMAN 8 Surabaya can improve student learning.
