Penerapan Pembelajaran IPBA Melalui Kegiatan Laboratorium Riil dan Laboratorium Virtual untuk Meningkatkan Kompetensi Siswa pada Materi Gunung Api

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kompetensi siswa pada materi gunung api setelah dilakukan pembelajaran melalui kegiatan laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtual. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental dengan desain one group pretest-posttest menggunakan satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas replikasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Laboratorium YDWP Unesa. Hasil uji normalitas dan homogenitas menunjukkan bahwa semua kelas berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen dan kelas replikasi mendapat nilai yang setara pada setiap aspek yang diteliti. keterlaksanaan pembelajaran melalui kegiatan laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtual memperoleh kategori sangat baik. Kompetensi pengetahuan siswa meningkat dari nilai D menjadi B, peningkatan tersebut bersifat signifikan dalam kategori sedang, kompetensi keterampilan siswa mendapatkan nilai B+, dan kompetensi sikap siswa mendapatkan predikat sangat baik. Siswa menunjukkan respons positif terhadap kegiatan laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtual dengan kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

This research aims to describe students’ competences on the topic of volcano after applied real and virtual laboratory activities. Type of this research is pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design by using an experimental class and a replication class. Subject of research are students at grade VIII in SMP Laboratorium YDWP Unesa. The result of normality and homogeny tests indicates that all classes have normal and homogeneous distributions. The result of this research shows that both experimental class and replication class obtain equal grades in each researched aspects. Feasibility of real and virtual laboratory activities based learning is in excellent category. Students’ knowledges competence increased from D to B, the increasing of this competence is significant in average category, students’ skills competence score belong to B+, and students’ attitudes competence score belong to excellent category. Students show positive response to the treatment applied in excellent category.
