PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN FISIKA PADA MATERI CAHAYA DENGAN MEDIA PhET SIMULATIONS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP SISWA DI SMP

Abstract

 Based on the results of observations by researcher at SMPN7 Bojonegoro, known that the comprehension of student to the concept physic learning still litle. In fact, the learning activity is implementation by practical work, to practice the skill of student. It’s caused the student are not active although on the practical work or discussion, so comprehension of the student about concept is not spread. This case makes reseacher motivate to use PhET Simulations media in the physic lesson to increase the comprehension of student about radiance concept in SMP. The purpose of this research is to know the result of implementation PhET Simulations media in physic learning of radiance concept in SMPN 7 Bojonegoro. It’s include, do learning process, the result of study and response of student in the learning activity. The research design which used is randomized control group pre-test post-test design. The research population is all of student in second grade of SMPN 7 Bojonegoro, it’s six class. Sample of research includes one class experiment (VIII-F) and one class control (VIII-D). The result of research showed that implementation physic learning used PhET Simulations media in radiance concept at second grade of SMPN 7 Bojonegoro happened well and had positive effect to result study learning, beside that response of student to implementation physic learning with use PhET Simulations media is well

Abstrak

Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan oleh peneliti di SMP Negeri 7Bojonegoro, dapat diketahui bahwa pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep pelajaran fisika masih sangat kurang, padahal dalam kegiatan pembelajarannya sudah diterapkan praktikum untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses kepada siswa. Hal ini dikarenakan siswa cenderung kurang aktif berpartisipasi, baik dalam kegiatan praktikum maupun diskusi, sehingga pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep yang di ajarkan tidak merata. Hal inilah yang mendorong peneliti untuk menggunakan media PhET Simulations pada pembelajaran fisika untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi cahaya di SMP. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasilpenerapanmedia PhET Simulationsdalampembelajaranfisika pada materi cahaya di SMP Negeri 7 Bojonegoro, yang meliputiketerlaksanaan proses pembelajaran, hasilbelajarsiswadan respon siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Randomized Control Group Pre-Test  Post-Test Design.Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Bojonegoro  yang berjumlah enam kelas. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari satu kelas eksperimen (VIII-F) dan satu kelas kontrol (VIII-D).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwapenerapan pembelajaran fisika menggunakan media PhET Simulationspadamatericahayadi kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Bojonegoro berlangsung dengan sangat baik dan berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Selain iturespon siswa terhadap penerapan pembelajaran fisika dengan menggunakan media PhET Simulations adalah sangat baik.
