PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA COMPUTER ASSISTED INSTRUCTION (CAI) PADA MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA MATERI POKOK BANGUN RUANG SISI DATAR UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VIII C SMP SHAFTA SURABAYA

Abstract

Berdasarkan data awal, di SMP Shafta Surabaya, mata pelajaran Matematika materi pokok Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar merupakan pelajaran yang sulit karena objeknya terdiri dari fakta dan operasi hitung yang semuanya abstrak. Penyampaian materi tersebut membutuhkan suatu media pembelajaran agar memudahkan peserta didik memahami materi tersebut. Fasilitas yang ada di SMP Shafta Surabaya sangat memadai untuk penerapan pembelajaran bermedia, tetapi media pembelajarannya sangat terbatas. Guru menyampaikan materi mengunakan metode ceramah dengan buku teks dan media PowerPoint Sederhana. Sehingga motivasi siswa terhadap pelajaran kurang dan berpengaruh pada hasil belajar siswa. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, pengembang memberikan solusi dengan mengembangkan media Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) pada Mata Pelajaran Matematika  materi pokok Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar. Metode pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan dari Bambang Warsita karena model pengembangan ini menggariskan langkah-langkah menghasilkan produk media CAI dan diuji keefektifannya.  Subjek uji coba dalam pengembangan media CAI adalah ahli materi 2 orang, ahli media 2 orang dan 30 siswa menggunakan instrumen pengumpulan data wawancara & angket untuk memperbaiki media CAI, serta tes untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan media CAI.

Data hasil uji validasi ahli materi I memperoleh persentase 94.06% (sangat baik), ahli materi II 94.22% (sangat baik), ahli media I 88.01% (sangat baik), ahli media II 90.6% (sangat baik), hasil uji coba perseorangan 88.4% (sangat baik), uji coba kelompok kecil 80.89% (sangat baik),  hasil uji kelompok besar 82.95% (sangat baik). Berdasarkan analisis data, nilai rata-rata post test (87,67) lebih besar daripada nilai rata-rata pre test (62.5). Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dengan taraf signifikan 5%, diperoleh thitung (5.08 ) lebih besar daripada ttabel (2.045). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) pada mata pelajaran Matematika materi pokok Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII C di SMP Shafta Surabaya.

Abstract

Based on the first data, in SMP Shafta Surabaya, mathematics subject in Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar main materi is a difficult subject because the object consists of the fact and abstract arithmetic operation. Conveying the materi needs a learning media in order to facilitate students to understand the materi. The facilities that exist in SMP Shafta Surabaya is enough to apply the learning by using the media, but the media of learning is still limited. The teacher only conveys the materi by using communicative method with text book and using simple PowerPoint. So, the motivation of the students in the subject is less and influence in the result of the student learning. Based on the some those problems, the developer gives the solution by developing the Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) media in mathematics subject in Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar main materi.The development method that is used is the development method from Bambang Warsita because his method underlines the steps to produce the product of CAI media that has been produced and examined the effectiveness. The trial subjects of CAI media development are two professionals people in materi, two professionals people in media, and thirty students by using interview, using questionnaire for improving the product of CAI media and testing for knowing the result of student learning after using CAI media.

From the validation testing result, the professional person in materi I obtained 94.06% percentage (very good), the professional person in materi II obtained 94.22% (very good), the professional person in media I obtained 88.01% (very good), the professional person in media II obtained 90.6 % (very good), the individual trying report obtained 88.4% (very good), the trying report of minor group obtained 80.90% (very good), the trying report of great group obtained 82.95% (very good). Based on the data analysis, the avarage value of  the post test is (87,87), that is greater than the pre test (62.5). Based on the counting by using significant standart 5% is obtained tarithmetic (5.08) is bigger than ttable (2.045). Can be concluded that using Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) media in mathematics subject in Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar main materi can increase the result of student learning of  eighth grade students of SMP Shafta Surabaya.
