Author Guidelines
- The Journal of Emerging Information Systems and Business Intelligence (JEISBI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by Universitas Negeri Surabaya. With an editorial vision to advance research in Information Systems (IS) and Business Intelligence (BI), JEISBI invites original research articles, literature reviews, and conceptual studies exclusively in English. The journal is published four times a year in April, July, October, and December, and is indexed in Google Scholar and Dimensions. All articles published in JEISBI receive a DOI under the prefix 10.26740/jeisbi.
- The scope of JEISBI encompasses, but is not limited to, areas such as Data Mining, Generative Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Architecture, UI/UX, Business Process Management, Enterprise Systems, System Development, Decision Support Systems, IS/IT Strategy and Planning, IT Investment and Productivity, IT Project Governance, IS Business Value, IS/IT Auditing, Cybersecurity and Risk Management, IS/IT Operations and Service Management, IT Ethics, Organizational and Human Behavior Technology, and Digital Sociology.
- Submitted manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word, written in Times New Roman 12 pt font with single spacing on A4-sized paper. The margins should be set at 2.5 cm for the top and left, and 2 cm for the right and bottom. Original research papers are limited to a maximum of 15 pages, while review or survey articles may not exceed 20 pages. All articles should be structured using the IMRaD format, consisting of an Introduction, Theoretical Background and/or Proposed Method (if applicable), Methodology, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion.
- The title of the article should be clear and concise, limited to around 12 words, and should avoid unnecessary phrases such as "A Study on..." or "Analysis of...". The abstract must be written in 10 pt font, ranging from 150 to 250 words. It should briefly describe the problem, the proposed approach, key findings, and the conclusion, without citations or uncommon abbreviations. Authors should include 5 to 7 relevant keywords immediately following the abstract
- The introduction must present the research background, problem statement, literature review, the proposed approach, and the novelty of the study in a way that is accessible to readers from different disciplines. All references should follow the IEEE citation format, noted with square brackets such as [1], [2], etc. Section and subsection headings must be numbered and clearly separated, such as “1. INTRODUCTION”.
- All manuscripts submitted to JEISBI must go through an online submission via the journal’s OJS platform. Submissions are initially screened by the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial team, followed by a plagiarism check using Turnitin. Manuscripts that pass this stage are then evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process by at least two independent reviewers. The review outcomes may result in acceptance, the need for revision, further review, or rejection. Authors are expected to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback, and upon satisfaction from the reviewers and editors, a final acceptance will be issued.
- JEISBI is committed to maintaining open access and does not charge any fees for article submission or publication. The journal utilizes tools such as Turnitin for plagiarism detection, Mendeley for citation management, and Grammarly for language polishing.
- As part of its ethical commitment, JEISBI follows the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher, are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
