Abstract

This research aims to describe 3 types of persona deixis based on the theory proposed by George Yule used in Vodafone advertisements on Youtube. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with documentation technique for data collection. The data obtained in this research are words that are indicated as persona deixis in the data source in the form of 5 Vodafone advertisements on Youtube. The data analysis in this research goes through 3 stages, namely looking at the lingual units identified as persona deixis, classifying the data found into types of person deixis based on George Yule's theory, and analyzing and explaining the data found in the form of words included in the types of persona deixis related to the context that affects the referent or reference in the speech. The data obtained in this study are first person deixis data which is divided into two types, namely "Ich" as singular first person deixis and "Wir" as plural first person deixis, second person deixis data which is divided into two types, "Du" as singular and informal second person deixis and "Ihr" as plural second person deixis, and third person deixis data which is divided into two types, namely "Er" as male third person deixis and "Es" as third person deixis of concrete objects or abstract objects.
