PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK MELALUI MODEL PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA SMA NEGERI 8 SURABAYA PADA MATERI POKOK FLUIDA STATIK

Abstract

Penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 8 Surabaya bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran yang menerapkan pendekatan saintifik melalui model problem based learning,hasil belajar siswa dan respons siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experimental design dengan desain one group pretest posttest design. Subyek penelitian adalah tiga kelas, yaitu kelas X MIA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen, kelas X MIA 2 sebagai kelas replikasi 1, dan kelas X MIA 3 sebagai kelas replikasi 2. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes, observasi, dan angket. Hasil pretest dianalisis dengan uji normalitas dan homogenitas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji normalitas dan homogenitas didapatkan semua kelas terdistribusi normal dan homogen. Data pretest dan posttest dianalisis dengan uji-t peningkatan dan uji  gain ternormalisasi untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada kelas eksperimen,kelas replikasi 1, dan kelas replikasi 2 termasuk dalam kategori baik dan sangat baik. (2) Hasil belajar pengetahuan siswa kelas eksperimen, kelas replikasi 1, dan kelas replikasi 2mengalami peningkatkan yang signifikan dan termasuk dalam kategori tinggi (3) Respons siswa setelah diterapkan pembelajaran pada kelas eksperimen, kelas replikasi 1, dan kelas replikasi 2 berdasarkan analisis angket mendapat respons sangat baik dari siswa. Dengan demikian, penerapan pendekatan saintifik melalui model problem based learning  pada materi fluida statik di SMA Negeri 8 Surabaya dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The research that has been conducted in class X SMAN 8 Surabaya aimed to describe feasibility learning  saintific approach through models problem based learning, describe the students activity, describe student learning outcomes, and describe the students response to the learning process. This type of research is quasi experimental design with the design of one group pre-test post test design. Subjects were three classes, X MIA 1 as class experiment, X MIA 2 as class replication 1, and X MIA 3 as class replication 2. Data collected through test, observation, and questionnaires. Pretest results were analyzed with normality test and homogeneity test. Based on the analysis result of test normality and homogeneity obtained all classes normally distributed and homogeneous. Pre-test and post-test were analyzed with t-test improvement and n-gain score (gain normalized) to the know the student learning outcomes improvement. The result showed that: (1) Feasibility learning on the experimental class, replication class 1, and replication class 2 included in the good and very good categories. (2) Improvement student learning outcomes in experimental class, replication class 1, and replication class 2 included in the high categories. (3) Response of the students after applied learning in the experimental class, class replication 1, and class replication 2 based on the analysis of questionnaires received very good response from students. Thus, the application of scientific approach through models problem based learning to the materials static fluid in SMAN 8 Surabaya can improve student learning.
