PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TWO STAY TWO STRAY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATA PELAJARAN IPA MATERI SUHU DAN PERUBAHANNYA BAGI SISWA KELAS VII DI SMPN 2 BUDURAN SIDOARJO

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPA materi suhu dan perubahannya.

Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah True Eksperimental Control group pretest–posttest, dengan subyek penelitian kelas eksperimen (VII G) dan kelas Kontrol (VII H). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMPN 2 Buduran Sidoarjo. Perlakuan kelas eksperimen dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay two stray, sedangkan kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran Direct Instruction (Pembelajaran Langsung). Variabel penelitian yang diteliti adalah varabel bebas yaitu penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay two stray dan variabel terikat yaitu hasil belajar siswa pada Mata Pelajaran IPA kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Buduran Sidoarjo. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji t untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen setelah diberi perlakuan.

Hasil analisis data dari kelas eksperimen dalam proses penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay two stray diperoleh nilai rata – rata 91,10% untuk guru dan diperoleh nilai rata – rata 88,88%  untuk siswa. Maka dari itu dapat termasuk dalam kriteria baik sekali. Untuk hasil analisis data tes dengan menggunakan uji t nilai pre-test diperoleh hasil  > , atau 1,671 > 0,295 dan untuk nilai post test diperoleh  > , atau 6,88 > 1,67 maka dari itu menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang signifikan setelah diberikan perlakuan.

Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay two stray dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional pada proses pembelajaran IPA materi suhu dan perubahannya bagi siswa kelas VII di SMPN 2 Buduran Sidoarjo.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether the implementation of cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) could increase student learning outcomes in IPA about temperature changes.

The design of this study design was True Experimental Control group pretest-posttest. For this design, the experimental class was VII G and the controlled class was VII H. This study was conducted in SMPN 2 Buduran Sidoarjo. Experimental class was treated by applying cooperative learning model two stay two stray while the controlled class was treated by Direct Instruction learning (Learning Direct). The research variables was free variable, the application of cooperative learning model two stay two stray, while dependent variable is the student learning outcomes in science for VII grade class in SMPN 2 Buduran Sidoarjo. The data collection method was the technique of observation and tests. Data were analyzed using t-test to determine the differences in learning outcomes in the experimental class after being treated.

The obtained value of the data analysis of the experimental class in the process of implementation of cooperative learning model using two stay two stray was about 91.10% for teachers and about 88.88% for students. Thus it can be included that it fits in the criteria very well. For the result of the test data analysis using t-test pre-test values was results  > , or 1.671> 0.295 and for post test was  > ,, or 6.88> 1.67. Therefore, it showed an increase in student learning outcomes significantly after being given treatment.

As the conclusion, this study showed that the implementation of cooperative learning model two stay two stray could improve student learning outcomes significantly in comparison with the use of conventional learning in IPA about temperature materials and their changes for seventh grade students at SMPN 2 Buduran Sidoarjo.
