PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA COMPUTER ASSISTED INSTRUCTION (CAI) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATERI KERAGAMAN BUDAYA BAGI SISWA KELAS VII DI SMP NEGERI 51 SURABAYA

Media memiliki peranan yang sangat penting karena dengan adanya media dapat memudahkan proses pembelajaran dan dapat memberikan motivasi belajar bagi siswa, dapat diketahui bahwa salah satu sekolah yang menghadapi masalah proses pembelajaran adalah SMPN 51 Surabaya. Di SMPN 51 Surabaya, ketersediaan fasilitas dan kemampuan siswa sangatlah mendukung pembelajaran bermedia namun media untuk mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial tidak ada, dari data nilai siswa pada semester sebelumnya siswa mengalami kesulitan pada materi keragaman budaya dikarnakan banyaknya budaya yang harus dihafalkan oleh siswa, Sedangkan guru cenderung hanya menggunakan buku paket dan komunikasi verbal. dengan demikian, diperoleh sebuah solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut yaitu pengembangan media Computer Assisted Instruction pada mata PelajaranIlmu Pengetahuan Sosialmateri keragaman budaya..

Jenis pengembangan ini menggunkan model pengembangan Research dan Development (R&D). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara terstruktur untuk memvalidasi materi dan media, dan tes untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan media CAI, Teknik analisis menggunakan perhitungan PSA dan PSP dan teknik uji t untuk tes

Pada perhitungan validasi kedua ahli materi diperoleh hasil persentase sebanyak 94,5% dan reviewer ahli media diperoleh hasil persentase sebanyak 94,4%. Persentase tersebut termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Selanjutnya untuk mengetahui keefektifan media pembelajaran, pengembang menggunakan uji-t dengan d.b = N-1 = 35-1 = 34, kemudian diperoleh 0,339 dan 5,740 . Jadi lebih besar dari yaitu 5,740 > 0,339. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalammenggunakan media pembelajaran CAI pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 51 Surabaya, Sudah efektif dan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

ABSTRACT

Media have an important role in the learning process. The existence of media could make the learning process easier and give a motivation to the students to learn. Media could be the one of problems which happens in the learning process for schools. One of the schools which have a problem in the learning process is SMPN 51 Surabaya. Actually, facilitation and students ability of SMPN 51 Surabaya support the learning process. However, there is no suitable media for the lesson of social science. Based on the student learning outcomes at the previous semester, it is found that the students have difficulties in lesson because of there are many varieties of culture which must be memorized by the students, whereas the teachers disposed to use handbook and verbal communication only. Therefore, it is found a solution to solve the problem, the developing of Computer Assisted Instruction(CAI) media in culture diversity

This type of development the models of the development of Research and Development (R & D). Data collection technique used structured interviews to validate the materials and media,and tests to determine student learning outcomes after using CAI media, technique analysis using calculations PSA and PSP and techniques t test to test.

The result of the second validation calculation of the material expert is obtained 94,5% (very good) and the media expert reviewer is 94,4% (very good). Furthermore, to find out the effectiveness of the learning media, it is used t-trial with d.b = N-1 = 35-1 = 34, and it is obtained t_table: 0,339 and t_count: 5,740 which means t_count (5,740) > t_table (0,339). Thus, it can be concluded that by using CAI learning media for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 51 Surabaya, the students have increased the learning outcomes in culture diversity subject significantly.
