PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA COMPUTER ASSISTED INSTRUCTION (CAI) PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPS MATERI POKOK POTENSI SUMBER DAYA ALAM UNTUK SISWA KELAS VII DI SMP NEGERI 59 SURABAYA

Berdasarkan wawancara yang dilakukan peneliti dengan guru mata pelajaran di SMPN 59 Surabaya, peneliti memperoleh informasi bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan buku paket dan powerpoint dengan tampilan yang minim. Namun, banyaknya bobot materi yang harus dipelajari menyebabkan siswa mengalami kesulitan untuk mengingat materi dan dari 35 siswa terdapat 18 siswa yang memperoleh nilai dibawah KKM. Selain itu, sekolah ini belum menerapkan pembelajaran bermedia, walaupun telah memiliki fasilitas laboratorium komputer.

Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk menguji kelayakan dan efektifitas media CAI pada materi Potensi Sumber Daya Alam mata pelajaran IPS untuk siswa kelas VII di SMPN 59 Surabaya. Model pengembangan media yang digunakan yaitu model pengembangan R&D Borg and Gall. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu angket dan tes. Pelaksanaan uji coba media CAI dilakukan terhadap ahli materi, ahli media, dan siswa kelas VII SMPN 59 Surabaya. Teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus P untuk mengukur persentase, dan instrumen tes menggunakan rumus rpbis dan uji t.

Hasil uji validasi kelayakan media CAI berdasarkan perhitungan angket penilaian media dari ahli materi sebesar 90% dan 100% serta dari ahli media sebesar 100% dan 88,88%. Hasil penilaian kelayakan media berdasarkan angket penilaian media dari 6 siswa kelas VII SMPN 59 Surabaya sebesar 89,7. Hasil perhitungan uji t dengan taraf signifikansi 5% berdasarkan nilai pre-test dan post-test siswa adalah hasil thitung lebih besar daripada ttabel yaitu sebesar 19.9482802>2,042. Berdasarkan perhitungan tersebut, maka media CAI yang dikembangkan layak dan efektif digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran materi Potensi Sumber Daya Alam untuk siswa kelas VII di SMPN 59 Surabaya.

Abstract

Based on interview by researcher with social science subject teacher in junior high school 59 Surabaya, researchers obtained information that learning activity using the package book and simple powerpoint. In addition, the amount of weight of the material that must be learned, causes the students have difficulty to remember the material well and from 35 students there are 18 students who can not reach the KKM score. This school also has not implemented learning activity with instructional media, although this school had computer laboratory facilitiy.

Instructional media that developed is Computer Assisted Instruction tutorial type. This research aims to test the appropriatness and effectiveness of CAI on the Natural Resource Potential social science subject for students of VII grade in junior high school 59 Surabaya. Media development model used is the Borg and Gall R&D model. Data collection methods used were questionnaires and tests. Implementation of media trials conducted on material experts, media experts, and students of VII grade senior high scholl 59 Surabaya. The data analysis technique use the formula P to measure the percentage, then for the test instrument using rpbis formula and t test

Validity test result of CAI media appropriatness based on the media opinion questionnaire from material experts are 90% and 100% and from media experts are 100% and 88.88%. Result of media appropriatness assessment based on media assessment questionnaire from 6 students of class VII of grade junior high school 59 Surabaya amounted to 89.7. Result of t-test with significance level 5% based on pre-test value and post-test of student is bigger than t table that is 19,9482802>2,042. Based on these calculations, CAI media developed appropriatness and effective use in learning activities of Natural Resources Potential material for students of VII grade of junior high school 59 Surabaya.
