Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) Untuk Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Peserta Didik Pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Inggris Materi Narrative Text Kelas VIII SMPN di Mojokerto

Proses pembelajaran merupakan bagian terpenting yang ada di dalam proses pendidikan dan menjadi salah satu pendorong untuk meingkatkan motivasi belajar. Kurangnya variasi dalam pembelajaran menyebabkan motivasi belajar peserta didik rendah. Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) merupakan salah satu alternatif yang dapat ditempuh untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan pelaksanaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris materi Narrative Text bagi peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN di Mojokerto. (2) Untuk membuktikan pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar materi Narrattive Text bagi peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN di Mojokerto. Metode pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara yang dilaksanakan pada saat awal penelitian untuk mengetahui permasalahan ketika pembelajaran berlangsung dan angket untuk mengetahui motivasi belajar peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dari angket dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterlaksanaan pembelajaran termasuk dalam kategori baik. Sedangkan dari analisis data dari angket menunjukkan adanya pengaruh pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar, hal teresbut dapat dibuktikan dengan uji One-way Anova fhitung memperoleh hasil lebih besar dari ftabel. Pada pertemuan 1 dan 2 di SMP Negeri 4 Mojokerto diperoleh hasil 4,48 untuk fhitung dan 4,00 untuk ftabel, pertemuan 2 diperoleh hasil 7,26 untuk fhitung dan 4,00 untuk ftabel. Sedangkan pada pertemuan 1 dan 2 di SMP Negeri 8 Mojokerto diperoleh hasil 5,41 untuk fhitung dan 4,00 untuk ftabel, pertemuan 2 diperoleh hasil 14,93 untuk fhitung dan 4,00 untuk ftabel. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa model pembeljaran kooperatif tipe NHT dapat meingkatkan motivasi belajar.

Abstract

Learning process is the most important part in education process and become one of the encouragement to improve learning motivation. Lack of variation in learning causes low learning motivation of student. Cooperative strategy model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) is one of alternative way can be used to solve the problem.The objectives of this research are (1) to know the impelementation of Cooperative Instruction type NHT in English Subject Narrative Text material for eighth grade of Junior High School Student in Mojokerto. (2) To prove the effect of Cooperative Instruction model type NHT to the student’s motivation learning Narrative Text material for eighth grade Junior High School in Mojokerto. The research method that used is quantitative method. The data are gathered by using interviews conducted in beginning of research to know the problem when learning and questionnaire to observe the student learning motivation. Based on the results of data analysis from quesionare can be concluded that learning activity belong to good category. Whereas data analysis from questionare shows the effectiveness on Cooperative Instruction type NHT model of improve learning motivation, it can be proved by One-way Anova test fcount which get higher result than ftable. At the first and second meeting in Junior High School 4 Mojokerto get the result 4,48 for fcount and 4,00 for ftable , the second meeting get the result 7,26 for fcount and 4,00 for ftable. Whereas at first and second meeting in Junior High School 8 Mojokerto get the result 5,41 for fcount and 4,00 ftable, the second meeting in Junior High School 8 Mojokerto get the result 14,93 for for fcount and 4,00 ftable. Therefore, it can be concluded that cooperative instruction model type NHT can increase the motivation learning.
