Application skills are among the learning outcomes expected of students in Visual Communication Design courses, yet this skill has not developed optimally because instruction still relies on theoretical delivery through textbooks and PowerPoint slides without direct demonstration. This study aimed to develop a tutorial video on the application of color theory and to determine its feasibility and effectiveness in improving the application skills of Grade XI Visual Communication Design students at SMKS PGRI 2 Sidoarjo. This study used a Research and Development approach with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) and a Nonequivalent Control Group design involving 25 experimental-group and 25 control-group students. Data were collected through expert validation, student response questionnaires, and pretest-posttest scores, then analyzed using percentage analysis, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, and the Independent Samples t-test. The developed video tutorial obtained feasibility scores of 93% (lesson plan), 94% (media), 100% (content), and 97.5% (evaluation instrument) from experts, and 85% (individual trial) and 87% (small-group trial) from students, all in the highly feasible category. The Independent Samples t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (t = 2.386, df = 48, Sig. = 0.021 < 0.05), the tutorial video on color theory application is therefore considered feasible and effective in improving students' application skills in visual design within Visual Communication Design courses.
