Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged the digitalization of educational administration, including classroom attendance management. However, many teachers still rely on manual attendance systems, which are considered less effective and efficient. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of digital classroom attendance management training in improving teachers' classroom management competencies at MTs NU Berbek. This study employed a quantitative approach using a PreExperimental Design with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 29 teachers from MTs NU Berbek. Data were collected through pretests, posttests, participant satisfaction questionnaires, and observations of the implementation of the attendance system over one week. Data analysis was conducted using validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, the Paired Samples t-test, and N-Gain analysis with the assistance of XIV IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The effectiveness of the training was evaluated using the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model. The results showed that the research instrument was valid and reliable, with a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.902. The pretest and posttest data were normally distributed based on the Shapiro–Wilk test, with significance values of 0.055 and 0.092, respectively. Furthermore, the Paired Samples t-test yielded a significance value of Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.001, indicating a statistically significant improvement in teachers' competencies after participating in the training. Based on the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model, the training received positive responses from participants, enhanced teachers' knowledge and skills, and was successfully implemented in digital classroom attendance management. Therefore, the digital classroom attendance management training was found to be effective in improving teachers' classroom management competencies at MTs NU Berbek.
