JUMPS Manuscript Evaluation and Publication Flow

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the JUMPS Online Journal System (OJS) by completing all required metadata and uploading the necessary supporting documents. Manuscripts must be prepared according to the JUMPS Author Guidelines and Template.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

The Editorial Office conducts a preliminary assessment to evaluate:

  • Suitability with the aims and scope of JUMPS
  • Compliance with the Author Guidelines and manuscript template
  • Completeness of submission metadata and required documents
  • Similarity screening using Turnitin
  • Compliance with publication ethics

3. Preliminary Editorial Decision

Based on the initial screening, the Editor-in-Chief may decide to:

  • Proceed to the peer-review process;
  • Return the manuscript to the authors for technical revision before review; or
  • Reject the manuscript if it does not meet the journal's basic requirements or falls outside the journal scope.

4. Reviewer Assignment

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers whose expertise matches the manuscript topic.

JUMPS implements a double-blind peer review process to ensure fairness, confidentiality, and objectivity.

5. Peer Review Process

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and novelty
  • Scientific significance
  • Methodological quality
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Clarity of presentation
  • Quality and relevance of references
  • Contribution to multidisciplinary health sciences and sports medicine

Reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

6. Author Revision

Authors revise the manuscript according to reviewers' comments and submit the revised version within the specified revision period.

7. Additional Review (If Required)

For manuscripts requiring substantial revision, the revised version may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation before a final editorial decision is made.

8. Final Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision after considering:

  • Reviewer recommendations
  • Scientific quality of the revised manuscript
  • Compliance with publication ethics
  • Final similarity assessment

The final decision may be:

  • Accepted
  • Accepted with Minor Editorial Revision
  • Rejected

9. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting and language proofreading to improve clarity, consistency, grammar, and formatting according to the JUMPS publication style.

10. Layout Editing and Author Proof

The manuscript is formatted into the journal layout (galley proof). Authors receive the proof version for final checking before publication.

11. Publication

Accepted articles are published online in the assigned issue of JUMPS (Journal of Unified Multidisciplinary Practice in Sports, Health, and Medicine).

The journal is published twice a year, in June and December.

All published articles are freely accessible through the JUMPS website under the journal's Open Access Policy.

Editorial decisions are based solely on the manuscript's scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the scope of JUMPS, without discrimination based on the authors' institution, nationality, gender, or professional background.
