Abstract
The unavailability of good and valid learning modules measured by the level of validity and student
responses, in order to help students' readiness in studying theory and practice in the Automotive Electrical
Practice course in the S1 Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Surabaya State University.
The purpose of this study is to produce a valid learning module. The research method uses the 4-D
development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) with four stages of development. The
research and implementation were carried out at the S1 Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program,
Surabaya State University on students of the 2023 intake who had programmed the Automotive Electrical
Practice course in the previous semester. The instrument used to measure the validity and response of
students used a questionnaire on lecturers who are material experts, language experts, and design experts.
The instrument used to measure student responses used a response questionnaire on students. Based on the
results of the study, it is known that the results of the module validation by lecturers who are material experts,
lecturers who are design experts, and validation by lecturers who are language experts obtained an average
of very valid criteria. The assessment of the response by students received very good criteria.
