Abstract: The chassis is the most important component which functions to support the weight of the vehicle, engine, passengers, and to keep the vehicle stable and not experience excessive deflection. The large market demand for chassis materials that are light and strong means that many are making innovations regarding the manufacture of chassis materials that are suitable for use in vehicles by conducting research on alloys of several metal materials. In this research, the chassis was made from Aluminum (Al) material combined with Silica (Si) through a casting process. From the results of this combination, tensile tests and bending tests were carried out. Aluminum is melted at its melting point and Si powder is added with a composition of 0%, 2%, 4% and 6%, then molding is carried out according to the test material standards. The results obtained from the test are that Silica can change the mechanical properties of Aluminum. In the bending test, the greater the Si percentage, the lower the peak load. Meanwhile, in the tensile test, the peak load increases as the Si percentage increases.
