Abstract

The phenomenon of football fans in Indonesia, which is one of the largest and most active communities on social media, can be used as an interesting example for research. Football fans use special terms, slang, and expressions that may not be understood by people outside the group, such as game tactics, player names and nicknames, or popular cultural references relevant to football, showing how language can play a role as a tool for building group identity. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using the free listening and note-taking method as the method and technique for data collection. Furthermore, it was analyzed using the extralingual matching method and the connecting-comparing technique as the method and technique for data analysis. The data used in this study are variations of slang, jargon, and vulgarity contained in the posts by the X account @unmagnetism. The purpose of this study is to identify the forms of variations of slang, jargon, and vulgarity, as well as the meaning of the variations of slang, jargon, and vulgarity in the posts of the X account @unmagnetism. From the results of the research on the posts by the X account @unmagnetism, four forms of slang language variations were found, namely acronyms, basic words, foreign language influences, and derived words. Furthermore, four forms of jargon language variations were found, namely acronyms, basic words, foreign language influences, and derived words. Furthermore, three forms of vulgar language variations were found, namely acronyms, basic words, and foreign language influences. Then, three meanings were found in slang, jargon, and vulgar language variations, namely in the form of word meanings, terms, and associatives.
