Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui sumber ide, kaitan motif dengan budaya dan ciri motif batik khas Madiun. Pengumpulan data tentang motif batik khas Madiun ini menggunakan sumber data primer berupa pengamatan maupun wawancara serta sumber data sekunder yang diperoleh dari non manusia. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik triangulasi metode digunakan untuk mengecek derajat kepercayaan, dan analisis reduksi untuk merangkum inti pokok. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan diketahui motif batik khas Madiun berupa motif batik keris terinspirasi dari cerita sejarah Madiun dan memiliki kaitan budaya berupa cerita sejarah Madiun yaitu warisan keris pusaka yang diterapkan pada ragam hias utama berupa keris. Untuk hasil penelitian dan pembahasan diketahui motif batik khas Madiun berupa motif batik porang terinspirasi dari tumbuhan di Madiun yang berkaitan dengan kebudayaan mata pencaharian Madiun yaitu berkebun dan diterapkan pada ragam hias utama berupa tumbuhan porang. Warna pada batik Madiun tidak terikat, batik Madiun cenderung tergolong dalam batik pesisiran.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the source of ideas, motif connection with the culture, and characteristics of the typical batik motif of Madiun. Collecting data on a typical batik motif of Madiun used primary data sources such as observation and interviews, secondary data obtained from non-human. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative research. Technique of triangulation method is used to check the degree of trust, and reduction analysis to summarize the main point. Based on the results of research and discussion, was known that the typical batik motif of Madiun was batik keris motif that inspired by the story of Madiun history and has acultural interaction in the history of Madiun that was dagger inheritance which was applied on the main style of decoration in the form of dagger. For the research and discussion was known that the typical batik motif of Madiun was batik porang motif that inspired by the plants in Madiun relating with cultural life hood of Madiun that was farming and was applied on the main style of decoration in the form of porang plant. Colors in Madiun batik was not bound, Madiun batik tends to belong to the coastal batik.
