Using a psychological approach, this research aimed to discover what neurotic needs the character Justice Wargrave has in Agatha Christie's novel And Then There Were None. Not only Wargrave's neurotic needs this research also analyzed Justice Wargrave's aggressive behavior, which is caused by his neurotic needs. The analysis process was carried out to try to find the reasons why Wargrave's neurotic needs influenced his aggressive behavior. Through research conducted, it can be concluded that Wargrave has three neurotic needs that dominate his character, namely: (1) a Neurotic need for power, (2) a Neurotic need to exploit others, and (3) Neurotic need for recognition and prestige from other people, where these three neurotic needs fall into one category of neurotic trend, moving away from other people or aggression. The results of the analysis also showed that Wargrave's neurotic needs have quite a significant influence on his aggressive behavior; more precisely, Wargrave's neurotic needs become the fuel for his aggression.
