Abstract

The writer chose "Elemental: Forces of Nature" to analyze using Lacanian psychoanalysis,
focusing on the power of belief experienced by the main characters. The study is an in -depth analysis
of how a couple overcame challenges in a forbidden relationship against conventional norms through
the power of belief. The research explores how the characters' beliefs shape their behavior and affect
their forbidden relationships. It highlights how their needs and demands help them overcome barriers
such as parental approval, cultural superstitions, social status, family expectations, and moral beliefs.
Applying film studies, the data are collected by identifying emotional signs through the movie's mise
en scene. The study found that the character's strong belief in love and partners can defy conventional
norms and greatly influence their behaviors. The uncharted power of beliefs found in the movie is love
can outnumber all things, shape character behavior, and make someone believe in something contrary
to the conventional norms
