PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN LIMBAH MARMER TERHADAP POTENSIAL SWELLING PADA TANAH LEMPUNG EKSPANSIF DI DAERAH DRIYOREJO

Abstract

Tanah lempung ekspansif adalah tanah lempung yang memiliki sifat kembang susut tinggi.Tanah di daerah Driyorejo merupakan jenis tanah lempung ekspansif.Tanah jenis ini menyebabkan masalah pada struktur bangunan di atasnya baik gedung maupun jalan.Penelitian ini menggunakan stabilisasi kimia dengan menambahkan limbah marmer yang bertujuan untuk memperbaiki tanah di daerah Driyorejo agar dapat mengurangi sifat kembang susut.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental yang dilakukan di Laboratorium Mekanika Tanah Universitas Negeri Surabaya dengan cara membuat variasi penambahan limbah marmer 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% dari berat tanah. Tes tanah pada penelitian ini meliputi tes sifat-sifat fisik tanah, test standart proctor, dan tes pengembangan tanah.

Hasil penelitian Potensial Swelling tanah lempung ekspansif di daerah Driyorejo menurun seiring dengan ditambahkannya limbah marmer. Nilai pengembangan untuk variasi campuran 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% masing-masing 5,135%, 3,684%, 1,699%, 1,489%, dan 0,611%.

Penambahan limbah marmer pada tanah lempung ekspansif di daerah Driyorejo dapat menurunkan nilai potensial swelling menjadi rendah.Hal ini dapat mengurangi kerusakan yang terjadi pada struktur bangunan di atasnya.

ABSTRACT

Expansive clay is a clay which have a high shrink swell. The clay in Driyorejo is expansive clay. This type of soil can causes some problems for the building structure which above it, including buildings and roads. This research uses chemical stabilization by adding marble waste to improve the soil in Driyorejo, then can be reduce the shrink swell.

This research is an experimental will be doing in Soil Mechanic Laboratory of The State University of Surabaya by making variation 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% marble waste from the weight of soil. The soil test in this research is physical soil test, standard proctor test, and swelling test.

The result of swelling potential expansive clay in Driyorejo is decreased with the addition of marble waste. The values of swelling for each addition of marble waste 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% is 5,135%, 3,684%, 1,699%, 1,489%, and 0,611%.

The addition of marble waste to expansive clay in Driyorejo can reducing the values of swelling potential to low. And this can reduce the damage of the structure above it.
