Abstract

For decades, PC (Portland cement) and its various types have until now been the main material for construction, especially in the construction of the structure of a building or building. Society is very dependent on these materials and can not be denied anymore. As a result, the use of PCs increased drastically, especially in the middle of 2011. Because that year began a very large development so that the use of PCs increased dramatically to reach the value of 48 million tons of sales and is expected to increase again in the following year, namely 2012 with a value of around 52 million tons. , in proportion to the economic development in the country. Until now, there is no substitute for cement raw materials. Currently, the Lapindo Mud, Sidoarjo is predicted to be able to replace the cement material because the Lapindo mud contains materials that are almost the same as the materials contained in cement, one of which is silica sand (SiO2). Silica sand is one of the main components contained in cement. From the results of mixing the cement-making materials, such as lime, silica sand and other additives, it produces larnite in the form of lumps. All the ingredients are heated first to form a fine powder. For the use of Sidoarjo Mud as a substitute for cement using geopolymer mortar with fly ash as a substitute for cement. Then the two materials are mixed with the use of Lapindo mud as much as 5%-50% with a multiple of 5% for each addition. By using a 12M activator solution and a SS/SH ratio of 0.5. The results of the study obtained compressive strength and porosity with inversely proportional values, namely the largest compressive strength occurred in the addition of 5% mud with a compressive strength of 3.57 MPa with the smallest porosity of 18.66% and the smallest compressive strength was obtained in the addition of 50 mud. % with a compressive strength of 2.70 MPa with the largest porosity of 28.93%. With this each addition of mud will reduce the yield of the compressive strength and will increase the yield as a percentage of the porosity itself.
