IMPACT OF LABOR ALLOCATION ON CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SCHEDULING USING RESOURCE LEVELLING

This study examines the impact of labor allocation on the scheduling of the Integrated Sports Psychology Building project at Surabaya State University. A descriptive quantitative method utilized secondary data (time schedules, volume, duration, Project Unit Price Analysis, shop drawings). Two-stage resource levelling simulations via Microsoft Project Professional 2021 revealed initial allocation caused peak overallocation (175 workers in January 2023) and schedule instability. Post-levelling, overallocation was eliminated through distinct graph patterns (bell-shaped curve pre-national holidays; descending ramp post-holidays), but extended project duration by 3 months to September 2023. The model’s weakness lay in unaccounted national holidays. The implications confirm that resource levelling effectively stabilizes labor distribution but requires integration with risk management to mitigate time extension and external disruptions.
