Abstract

Geopolymer concrete is an eco-friendly innovation that utilizes fly ash as a binder, replacing Portland cement. Seashell powder, which is rich in CaCO3, has the pontential to enhance the strenght and durability of concrate. This study aims to analyze the effect of seahell powder subsitution ()%, 1%, 30%) on the compressive strength, splitting tensile strenght, flexural strength, and porosity of fly ash-based geopolymer concrate using 10 M NaOH solution. The experimental method was employed using cylindrical specimens (10 x 20 cm) and beam specimens (53 x 15 x 15 cm), tested at 7 and 28 days. The results show that 15% substitution produced the highest compressive strenght (68,81 Mpa) and splitting tensile strenght (5,10 Mpa) as well as the owest porosity (),039%). However, the highest flexural strength (10,01 Mpa) was achieved at 30% variation. Overall, 15% seashell powder substitution is considered the most optimal composition for improving geopolymer concrete performance, except for flexural strength, which increased at 30% variation.
