Abstract

The use of pigments from natural materials in watercolors is a small step toward preventing environmental damage caused by paint production waste. We can find various types of plants, spices, and even fruits in our surroundings that contain pigments. However, making paint using natural pigments also requires binders that contain chemicals. Finally, since the mid-20th century, synthetic binders have been available on the market and have become increasingly popular. They produce paint using synthetic materials and chemical mixtures to make it easier for artists to prepare their paint. This experiment includes the production of binders, recipe testing, determining the color palette, color analysis, and the creation of artwork. Using the specified methods, tools, and materials, these experiments produced the following color palettes: 1) Rosella Red, 2) Charcoal Black, 3) Ternate Blue, 4) Turmeric Yellow, 5) Ube Purple.
