REFLEKSI SPIRITUAL SEBAGAI IDE PENCIPTAAN KARYA BATIK LUKIS

Abstract

Modern society often anxiety and loses direction due to the demands of our fast-paced times. This phenomenon highlights the importance of spiritual reflection as a personal journey to discover inner meaning. Through visual art, artist express her personal journeys and events happening around to remind us of the essence of life. This research employs a Practice-Led Research method focused on the creative process of producing artworks. The process of creating this installation which comprises several painted batik panels involves structured stages: preparation, conceptualization, idea development, and realization of the work. The final outcome of the research is an installation consisting of five painted batik panels of various sizes in an expressionist style. The work is presented as an installation to create a contemplative space for the audience. It tells the story of how humans survive through faith in God. This topic is highly relevant today and aims to offer a new perspective on life through the visualization of the ‘soul’ motif as a spiritual symbol, accompanied by supporting narrative.

Masyarakat modern seringkali dilanda kecemasan dan kehilangan arah hidup akibat tuntutan zaman yang serba cepat. Fenomena ini menyoroti pentingnya refleksi spiritual sebagai perjalanan batin menemukan makna hidup. Melalui seni rupa, perupa mengekspresikan perjalanan personal serta perubahan dunia serta peristiwa yang terjadi di sekitar untuk mengingatkan esensi kehidupan. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode Practice-Led Research yang berfokus pada proses kreatif penciptaan karya seni. Proses pembuatan instalasi ini melibatkan tahapan terstruktur, yaitu: persiapan, pengimajinasian, pengembangan ide, dan perwujudan karya. Hasil akhir penelitian berupa karya instalasi yang mengintegrasikan lima panel batik lukis dalam berbagai ukuran dengan gaya ekspresionis. Kelima panel tersebut menjadi satu kesatuan dalam karya instalasi untuk menciptakan ruang kontemplatif bagi audiens. Karya ini menceritakan cara manusia bertahan dengan bertuhan. Topik tersebut sangat relevan saat ini dan bertujuan memberikan perspektif kehidupan melalui visualisasi motif ‘jiwa’ sebagai simbol spiritual serta narasi pendukung.
